Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger - Set Sail! V3

Luka having a tragic past doesn't make her any weaker than Marvelous or Joe, who also have tragedy in their pasts.

It comes across as a lame excuse for her behaviour, it's pretty stereotypical (involving children) and isn't necessary. Again, nothing about her indicated the dead sibling thing. It's as if we found out that Don has feelings of terrible guilt because he killed someone - used for cheap dramatic effect and goes against everything we knew about the character

I have seen the sub. I shall say it again: Where in the world do you pick up these stuff? Even if it is not sub, the title "Human lives are the Earth's Future" pretty much gives away the message of the episode. The girls are not there just because of "D'awww.... lovey kid I wanna have a kid". It is saving human lives, especially the kids because they are the future of Earth. Have you ever heard of the saying, "Kill one person, you just killed a million?" Beside, the whole point of Luka wanting to save the baby and the kid is because she wasn't able to save her sister, Fia, from her illness and Ahim wanted to do the same because she want to show Luka that she can handle things without Luka's help.

In a sense, we learn why Luka is Luka and a character growth from Ahim.

Oh and let me add this: Females mammals tend to be more protective and more caring about the young than the males. So it is not because of the stereotypical "Girls goes goo goo ga ga over babies and kids." Like I said, Luka feels the need of taking care of Ahim and the baby and the kid because she felt she owns something to her dead sister and Ahim wants to show Luka she can stand up for herself.

Especially when they're trying to show that the Gokaigers are becoming true Sentai. Luka being very protective towards Ahim & children is just part of it, especially after losing her sister. In each of these tributes, they've been either tested or doubted by the older Rangers. Mostly since they originally had no desire to protect Earth & it's people, except for Gai. However they've come a long way since then.

They need to do the past team's roll call more often if the series is seriously promoting that the Gokaigers are inheriting the past.

Well, the Gokaigers aren't exactly the original holders of the past 34 sentai team powers. :P

I think that the most that they could do is say the certain team's name as well as doing the certain team's poses once they change into them. When the Hurricanger tribute comes around, Hurricane Red, Blue, & Yellow will no doubt do the roll call for their team once they get their powers back for awhile.

Here are my thoughts/ramblings of Gokaiger 23:

- lol random crossdresser stalking Don and Joe. xD

- Nice, Fiveman Gokai change! (I love seeing the pre-Zyuranger suits in action)

- Magiyellow with a skirt is weird. Especially when you've been marathoning Magi for a few weeks. :P

- Heh, normal citizens know about the Legend War? :O

- Bahaha Don and Joe with Makeup. WTF is going on? :anime:

- Basco returns! With Mele, Rio, and Zuban!

- Man, Luka had a shitty life before she joined the other Gokaiger. :/

- Sweet fight against the Gormin, Rio, Mele, and Zuban.

- YES GOGO V! :D And the team's rolecall phrase to boot!

- Joy, the Gold Mode... again. (Anyone else notice he's been spamming that too often?)

- Bah, stupid Monkey stole the keys again!

- Sooo the GoGo V mecha power is water cannons? Water cannons for a Fire monster. (Wasn't a Fire monster a GoGoV villain from the early episodes?) I *do* like the mimicry of Victory Robo's final slicing attack.

Next episode has full Megaranger *and* Hurricanger Gokai changes, and... Zealousto?! :o

I agree with lazycoconut in that the "Luka has a deceased sister" plot feels weak. In all the 20+ episodes of Gokaiger, there hasn't been any indicator that she acts the way she does because of her dead sister. Granted we don't know much about the Gokaigers except for some basic stuff. But a dead sister being a motivator for Luka is something that should have been mentioned or hinted at beforehand . :sayin:

So the first ep says that all the Sentai Warriors have past in to legend... but it is obvious that about a year or less has passed and everyone still knows about the Legend War and all the Senshi.

My ? is how did Marvelous, Basco, and AkaRed get over 200 keys scattered across the universe so damn quick?
