BTW just wondering, what are your feelings on Boukenger?

I liked Bouken. It's not the best series, but was enjoyable. Mostly the Eiji/Ashu story lines. It was an episodic series, so it had some stale episodes, but that's no biggie.

There was something about it, that felt like it wasn't a Sentai. There was something "mature" about it. Plus BoukenSilver has one of the best changer design and gimmicks ever. I am also a proud owner of the GoGo Changer.

While that's not Over-Time it's not to say Over-Time hasn't had there own awkward moments.

It was an episodic series, so it had some stale episodes, but that's no biggie.

I never understand the complaints about Boukenger being episodic. Every Sentai show is extremely episodic. Boukenger actually had a premise which justified the episodic structure though, unlike most Sentai shows, and it's not like there weren't events carried out from one episode to another, in spite of Boukenger's structure, so it wasn't more episodic than usual for Sentai.

omg Gai asked for BoukenRed's autograph.. after the disaster that was Bullblack/Kuro Kishi last episode... ugh limit break.

anyway BoukenRed has never changed.. still as hot and sexy as ever and super awesome. i love how they changed the episode to a "bouken" quest premise... very nice

I thought it was cute when Gai asks for autographs. Granted, he's getting a little too much glory, but he's still a fun character. Plus, I laughed when Satoru explained himself while signing the book. Just funny.

Yeah, Satoru barely changed in appearance or demeanor. They could cut some of his footage into a actual Boukenger episode and no one would notice unless one of the Gokaigers were there too.

I agree; I think Luka edges out Marvelous if I have to pick one character as my absolute favorite in Gokaiger; she's just so interesting, and imo stole just about scene she's in even non-verbally. The way she slapped Bouken Red's hand away when he offered to help her was rather funny, and it shows that she doesn't take handouts from anyone. Hopefully we'll get another Luka-centric ep again.

I do hope Ahim will get more love in the future, though.

Yeah, she didn't have that big a part, but Luka was awesome in this episode, especially the hand slapping moment. It was surprising she came on this quest between the two Reds, but it worked, probably for Marvelous' benefit.

Best thing about this episode: It felt exactly like a Boukenger episode.

So true. This was a great episode. We get a treasure hunt between the two most appropriate Sentai teams for that. It would've been cool for Gajah to come back, but Ryuuwon was awesome too. His interaction with Satoru and vice versa were perfect, just how you would expect any Reds to react to their villains returning. I also like how Marvelous got a chance to show doubt, that there's something under the epicness. All around great episode.

According to the episode, Satoru approve of them having the Bouken's power in the movies, it is just they have never consider using it. Like how they didn't use to Goseiger's power in the movie but use it in ep 17... right?

Sounds about right. The Gokaiger are capable of fighting on their own and they're probably weary of going with new Powers when the ones they have served them well. Also, they got a ton of Powers in that movie and it's only been a few episodes. They probably didn't have time to use them all.

On a separate note, I found it pleasing that they used the Magiranger's power on Ryuuwon, since the Magiranger never had a chance to go against Ryuuwon or any of the Negatives themselves (minus Tsubasa and Hikaru). That was cool, even though I love Boukenger vs. Super Sentai.

On one last final note, do you think Power Rangers Samurai got Toei nostalgic for Shinkenger? They seem to use the Shinken-Gokai-Oh a lot. It's cool, don't get me wrong, probably the true reason it's used so much. However, it's funny Shinken-Gokai-Oh is getting the love when Gokaiger is running concurrently with Samurai.
