It's the same as the people that hate Naruto because it's COOL to hate naruto. Sure there are people that hate his music, but most of the hate I see online comes from people hating him because he's who he is. Don't get me wrong I can't stand his music, but I am not going to attack him because if it. The fact is he worked hard to get where he is. I think some of the hate against him is jealousy that he put himself out there, and made it big by doing so.
