Actor Odagiri's actress wife Kashii gives birth to boy

Actress Yu Kashii, wife of actor Joe Odagiri, has given birth to a boy, her agency said Tuesday. The baby is the couple’s first child.

‘‘I am very much looking forward to spending time with my baby,’’ the 23-year-old actress said in a statement.

Kashii is known for her appearance in the 2006 smash-hit Japanese movie ‘‘Death Note.’’ The 34-year old Odagiri starred in ‘‘Tokyo Tower - Mom and Me, and sometimes Dad,’’ a 2007 movie which won the Japan Academy Prize. The couple married in 2008.
