You may only spend an hour on Jersey Shore but there is a whole industry of vapid 'celebrity' who are famous for no other reason than the fact they are 'famous'. There are people who think about this shows, who talk about these shows, write magazine articles, take photo shoot, people who read those article, talk about the show, talk about the article, who watch other show, to say nothing of people who greenlight thise show and work on it. So yeah in the end its more than just 'one hour a week'. It has a much wider impact. For god sake you refer to these people by their first name like they were your bar drinking buddies!!


There is a ton of show that lift the uneducated, the uncouth, the unremarkables, the stupid, the mean, the bitches and other random rable of this world to the status of celebrity for no other reason than they are famous. Its a vicious circle of vapid people doing vapid thing. Its a glorification of the mundane, telling people 'its alreight to be like that, look at them they are famous for being so mundane', it strips people of the desire, of the need, to thrive and better themself. What is the purpose of education when any bitchy airheas from Jersey can get fame and fortune by being a bitchy airhead ON TV?!

Look at all those folks making fools of themselves on American Idol auditions, they are there because they want that easy looking cheap glory.

God relax man we don't watch them cause we idolize them. We watch them cause we pity them. There stupid animals at the zoo that dance for our amusement. Eventually there going to fizzle out and hit rock bottom while the rest of us have well paying jobs. That's the difference.

I haven't seen season one but I've watched most of season 2 so far, Snooki is just a complete dumbass, plain and simple, the tans that those girls have are pretty disgusting too.

Pretty much, although I find the terms grenades and land mines to be funny. The only reality show I've enjoyed is Joe Schmo 2 back when I still had Spike TV but that was years ago.
