Jackie Chan to Star in Shaolin Temple Remake

I know Bolt had to seen it already. I dunno why, but I'm looking forward to hear his analogy on this film.

I saw this movie and thought it was enjoyable. It's not a great movie but decent movie. Andy Lau's character went through a total change as the movie goes on. You can say it reminds you of Jet Li in "Fearless". Nicholas Tse as the main villain was a different change too. I think he did a good job as the villain. Jackie Chan's appearance wasn't that long. He did interact with the characters and had one creative fight scene and that was it. Wu Jing and Xing Yu as monks were badass. But did one of them die in order to move to the plot? Watch and see.

I bought the Blu-ray a couple of months back and thought it was only ok. Action was serviceable but the dramatic parts were pretty weak. Lots of overacting and melodrama.

Okay, found the DVD in my dad's collection. If there's a way for me to understand it, I may watch it this weekend.

I actually haven't gotten the opportunity to watch this yet, but most of the reviews I've caught have been unanimously average. From what I understand, the historical drama of the plot is more important than the martial arts angle, which might explain why I haven't been terribly eager to see it. I'll keep my expectations low and hopefully get something out of it. I wonder if it will hit theaters in my area...
