Is Gaoranger any good?

Sentai did the high school thing before PR with Turboranger. So to say Megaranger's premise was influenced by PR seems odd to say.

Having not seen much of Mega, how was it presumably better than PR?

Yeah they did and the influence to use teenagers might have came from that since they were doing Carrangers the year before but the theme of using teenagers from high school wasn't a ongoing basis for sentai while PR used it again and again. Sure, an alien invasion being fought off by teenagers is pretty broad but for the time frame it was made and such, I just can't help thinking it.

I didn't say it was better but I just felt it would be as an original creators saying they can do it better then they can do it type of situation. taking the basic premise each PR was based on and doing it their way and better.

....................I said I "felt" it was Toei's attempt at one-uping PR. If Megaranger dealt with cars and demons and fairies, I'd have had agreed with you, but it didn't. Also, it's kind of hard not to see parallels to Mega and PR when you kind of look at it, isn't it? I might be making more of it then not but I just always thought so.

The power animals do look pretty awesome.

There's a 100 power animals right? Do all 100 show up in the show?

Well, there was supposed to be 100 in show, but the rest did a cameo in the finale as Power Crystals.

Only 25 showed up all- 23 in show, 1 in the movie (GaoKong) and one in an Audio Drama CD (GaoPanda).

You know, Gaoranger was the very first Sentai series I finished. It was great at the start--I loved watching the first half or so.

Second half, Gaoranger has a pacing problem. They keep trying to top themselves with opponents and the damage they do to the Gaoranger, but eventually it gets to the point that you go: "So what? They survived that last thing, they'll come through this too." I mean after they...

, they don't realize that can't be topped, so 45-50 mostly comes off looking ridiculous.

Gaoranger has a "mecha glut", but I actually enjoyed those designs, plus all their mecha didn't need to combine.

Ok, you are going to have to explain this one. Because megaranger is NOTHING like Sailor Moon at all.

The only thing I can think of it's the Mega Girls school uniforms.

It's pretty hard not to like Space, really.

I think it's safe to say even PR haters can like PRiS.
