[Interest Thread] Toku Con in Vancouver?

I work as a recreation coordinator, so I have access to alot of facilities.... just wondering who would be interested in coming to vancouver for a toku convention?

EDIT: I've been thinking about it, and while I am a recreation coordinator, I can't use the facilities I work in because they are owned by the municipal government, so they have to be used for community events and programs.... I have found a great location, if we actually go through with this. Here are some floorplans :

What's so great about this location is that it's part of a hotel, so it provides accommodation as well

I'm thinking that Columbus Room can be the main social room/vendor, then Salon D and C can be used for panels.... and Coquitlam Room used as a 'screening' room. For the evening, we can open up the folding wall on salon D and C, and turn it into a dance event..

I'm 2/3 hours away so yes I'd come just to check out the ?dealer? tables?.. that is if there were guys at a con I would asume they would be selling lots of japanese type goodies ;D

I'd love to go to a toku con, but Canada might be a bit too far for most people :shakefist Except those that travel a lot far and wide (RF <__<) and of course the canadian fans.

Also flying in guests would be pretty pricey

It's a nice idea, but I would rather just have a general HJU get together/gathering. There are a few people on the board that seem pretty cool, and that I wouldn't mind hanging out with.

I'm just not really sure how much you could bring to a "convention." I mean there are only a select few knowledgeable enough, let alone willing, to do a panel. I guess you could get old PR actors or something.
Could have import dealers too I suppose, and ForeverKnight/Red/Blue there selling bootleg DVDs.

In any case, I wouldn't be able to go myself. I'm currently in Florida and wouldn't be able to afford the trip. If it took place a year or two ago it may have been a different story but ...
