Thread for stuff outside Marvel/DC!

The wife and I are big fans of David Mack's Kabuki, and I've been sporadically collecting Strangers in Paradise for years. I first got into Brian Michael Bendis' writing because of Powers, and JMS' work on Rising Stars and Midnight Nation was, IMO, fantastic. And pretty much all of Alan Moore's ABC titles were great stuff before DC bought Wildstorm out and he left and took LoEG with him. (Though I wasn't as impressed with Promethea or Tom Strong as by Top Ten or LoEG.) (I'm still reading LoEG, of course.)

That's just off the top of my head. Anyone else got stuff from this side of the pond they're reading and digging?

IDW's Transformers comics, "Inflitration" was a breath of fresh air after the mess Dreamwave made of the G1 license. Beast Wars is another "time travel" cliche by Simon Furman that makes use of the Beast Wars toys never used in the series

As listed, "Strangers" is captivating stuff. Oh, then there's Usagi "I'm not a freaking TMNT spinoff" Yojumbo and the fourth volume of the TMNT comic that has'nt turned up much profit, the storylines so far have been interesting.

This volume is written by one of the co-creators, Peter Laird, and therfore makes it canon, which makes the following scenarious almost depressingly authentic.

April O'Neil has since been revealed in this series to be nothing more than a product of the Kirby Pencil

Splinter is dead

Raph is now a Gamera-sized Snapping Turtle (paid homage to in the new cartoon with Donatello)

The comic drags on with one story, telling indepent tales of the Turtles in a real life format, some of them reunite for a few issues at a time before moving on to another seperate adventure, the only Turtle not to reunite with them at any point right now is Michangelo, currently fighting alongside a group of fellow Triceraton prisoners in an effort to uncover the fate of his girlfreind, a Triceraton Regent, whom he has mated with.

Usagi Yojimbo is awesome and could be a lot awesomer, it's too bad he gets lumped in as a bad Turtles rip/spin off.

You should all check out "Invincible". It's one of the hottest indy comics out there. One of the creator's, right now, is actually writing Ultimate X-Men. Also, Bendis apparently is a huge fan(from what I've read, he used to babysit Robert Kirkman was he was a kid...and he wrote the foreword for the 1st hardcover)...here's a pic of me and Kirkman from Wizard Wizard 2K5...
