That was random, uncalled for, and highly offensive to immigrants and Canadians. This thread used to be about open discussion. What happened to that?
But it's the truth. If someone does that in Canada do you honestly think that the Canadian government is going to allow them to stay just because? Of course not. That's what his point was. We're the ONLY country in the world that allows illegal immigration to continue AND open our pocket books in the process. "Oh you have no job, medical, money, home? That's okay, we'll give you welfare to sponge off regardless if you're here illegally but if you're BORN here don't ask for help as there is none for you."
What's sad is that the US government will help other countries from around the world, it will support illegals through welfare but it will not help it's own people (look at Katrina, look at the California wildfires, look at the floods in WA). Part of the problem with illegal immigration is the fact that the people in office refuse to do a damn thing about it OTHER then to point fingers at each other. "Oh it's the Democrats fault" "Oh it's the Republicans fault" when in actuality it's BOTH parties fault.
cAlso yes, the numbers are all bullshit cause they are all estimates at best. Because there is no census question as to status of citizenship, so you may know how many Hispanic's people are living in an area but any guess as to the legality of them being in the country is speculation.
Really huh? So actual statistics from a school district is bullshit?
A 2006 school report shows that as of October 2006 there were 12,516 students in that district. Of those students 8,641 were Hispanic or Latin. That's actually a little over 69% of the total enrollment in the school district. Those numbers are right off the school district's website. The high school itself had a 66.7% Hispanic/Latino population. Four elementaries (out of 11) had over 90% Hispanic/Latino population, one was at 89%, two at over 75% and three were under 45% (those three happen to be in the newer area). Of the four middle schools, one had a Hispanic population of over 90% while the remaining three ranged between 58.8% and 89.6%. These numbers are straight from the school district's own website. They are, by law, required to take ACCURATE head counts of students in order to obtain state funding.
The other numbers came from media reports done by the local newspaper including one report done by a local media station that stated the city itself has a population of over 67% Hispanic. The claim to have obtain their numbers from the Census and other reports.
Again the primary Hispanic in that town IS Mexican. THAT is a FACT in my area. We don't have many (if any) Cubans or Puerto Ricans up herein MY AREA. We do get some immigrants (both legal and illegal) from other Middle and South America countries but the majority of (illegals) immigrants that make up the Hispanic community happens to come from Mexico. This is also backed up by the fact many of the businesses that have opened up in that downtown have the Mexican flag displayed (no American flag or the Mexican flag over the American) OR they have the name of Michoacán in their business name.
x1xBladex1x, you're right. Immigration should not be easy in ANY country. It's EXTREMELY difficult to move and remain in Japan, Mexico, Germany, France and Russia. In Russia even the Russians have to have papers from the government to get a job or go to school. That means even if you're 100% Russian, born in Russia but move away and come back you're NOT going to be able to get a job or go to school until the government says so. In Mexico, even if you become a citizen you can NEVER vote or own property. The United States probably has the easiest immigration policy among non-third world countries.
ILLEGAL immigration is not about racism at all. Nor is being angry over taxpayers money (from property taxes, income taxes, etc, etc) paying for those who enter the country illegally and using the welfare system to fund their way of life. Racism has nothing to do with ILLEGAL immigration.
