Hyper Yo-Yo Burning! - Talk Up!

Not quite sure, but I think it's Shogakukan. This airs as part of Oha Cross and that's a block owned by Shogakukan. It's pretty hard to find info on it at all, doesn't even have a Japanese wiki.

So it turns out the dude in the devil costume wanted to be a manga artist years ago and pitched a yo-yo manga. The guy was told the manga would never sell and his dreams were crushed. When the Hyper Yo-Yo Burning manga started, he went a taaad bit crazy. Shou lost his battle against the dude and Moeru managed to find him in the nick of time.

Training time!

The training this time is...making the guys trace a manga page 1000 times over with a pen/weight combination thing. Their fingers get used to the grip in the end and they work out a new attack thanks to it. (Crazy dude always trying to sell Moeru fake goods shows up too) Time for battle on the next episode!

The yo-yo manga thing is funny because I'm pretty sure there have been a lot of yo-yo manga over the years. Like, I think the mangaka of Yakitate!! Japan did a yo-yo manga as one of his first projects.

I intended to watch with Aoi tonight, but KeyHole crapped out on me.

Daaang. Hopefully it works a bit better next week! I'm not sure how long this show will run, but I am so getting DVDs if it ever has any releases. I imagine they can stick a ton of episodes onto one volume with the length.

I've been searching for raws all over the place and it's seriously like this show doesn't exist online. Though I did find out that the main character is played by the cockroach Dopant from the last Double episode.

Have there been? I should read into them. Here it's basically treated as something that would never do well until some guy comes along with a kickass story for it and he gets his version published. I love that they use the actual manga for it, promotions!

There's certainly not as many major yo-yo manga as there are... say, baseball or soccer manga? But they've definitely existed.

Episode 1 was awesome man so is there any raw for this beside the ep1 on youtube that is a tv recording
