Hyper Yo-Yo Burning! - Talk Up!

Damn you, Ultraman Zero, nearly made me miss this!

Really liked this episode. (as usual) Was basically a training episode using unorthodox methods, not the most unique plot, but damn was it fun to watch how they tied in making ramen to doing yo-yo tricks. Think we also got to see a bit of a bond begin to grow between Shou and Moeru during the cooking.

Of course the weird training pays off for them and we get to see just how, which leads to them doing some cool energy field stuff and creating their astral beasts. Seems that Moeru has a Phoenix and Shou got himself a spiffy blue dragon. (so original!) Was really fun to see and I look forward to finding out how future yo-yo battles will go now that all the main characters can summon their own beasts.

Next episode: The second round against Izou! The setting seems to have changed to a cool underground area. I'm guessing most of the next episode will be the battle since we didn't really get to see any other scenes in the preview.

Man, I don't think it will since it doesn't seem like one of those shows that would, but if this ever gets a DVD release, I am so getting it.

Not to sound overly needy here, but if anyone manages to find some RAWS of the show, PM me

Whew, missed this show for the last two weeks, glad to be able to catch it again.

So someone took some of the legend parts from Moeru and...she thinks Shou is a huge fan of her? This gal's a little crazy. Even though she's into ballet, she can also do mad yo-yo skills. Yeah. Everyone in this world seems to be into yo-yo'ing. This gal's got a really...creppy "love wink" thing that captivates guys and really creeps me out. ...kay, so this lady can't do yo-yo tricks at all after she so easily smacked herself in the head. Annnd she bumps into Izou, who she automatically thinks is hitting on her until he pushes her away and continues being a d-bag to Moeru. So! She's training them through random activities that seemingly have nothing to do with yo-yo much like the naruto training. And of course they piss her off when they decline her training offer, enough to show that she's actually good at yo-yo tricks and then a battle with Moeru begins!

Man I really love the visual effects in this show, even though they're rather simple, they add a lot to the atmosphere and make it damn fun to look at, what with a giant dragon and bird attacking each other and all. Oh snap, lady schooled Moeru for calling her an old lady.

Next episode! More training with the strange lady and...Moeru and Shou break up?! Probably not, but it'll be amusing to see.

Also: http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/anime/hyper-yo-yo/ Website's gone through a design overhaul.

So there was a lot of training in this episode, Shou and Moeru were separated through a lot of it, buuuut it did end with Shou finally mastering his eagle spirit thing! Was a really neat sight to see.

Shou's happy for Moeru! He seemed to have started disliking him on a more serious level in the previous episode because of how easy he gave up on the training. Haha, seeing Izou sneeze when the others talked about him was really amusing. ...and then the lady gets scary and starts growing a DBZ energy field when Moeru calls her an old lady. I love the effects for these energy creatures they're able to summon up from their yo-yos, seeing them do battle in the sky definitely feels like an interesting take on the whole tokusatsu battle thing. Seemed like Moeru was going to lose, but he totally came back for the win this time around! So the paiur finally have three pieces of the Legend Cluster and essentially the core. Seems like this is as far as they're supposed to take their partnership and Shou's really bummed after having grown to like Moeru. Stuff happens next time!

You know, I'm starting to believe I am the only fan of this show outside of Japan.

Yeah, I think the one upside here is that it can at least be viewed on Keyhole. Definitely grabbing DVDs if they ever release them.

Oh man, this show just went meta as heck. It seems that Shou and Moeru's team is broken up when they find out they were only really gathered to assemble the core of the Legend Cluster and Shou wants to prove they can find the rest so they can continue working together. Shou is lead to a secret underground lair... Elsewhere! Moeru is looking for a symbol the dude who gathered them up told him might allow him and Shou to continue working together. Moeru finally realizes that the symbol is on a bunch of kids' arms and he notices that it's a free tattoo in that month's Coro-Coro magazine and it turns out that the sinister person leading Shou to his underground lair is...the editor of the Hyper Yo-Yo Burning manga!

This is so ridiculous, but with the premise of the show it just works. Yeah, second arc definitely kicked into gear now. (new opening as well)

Well this was an awesome episode. Moeru shows up at the KoroKoro HQ and demands to know where Shou is and...no one has any idea what the hell he's talking about. He meets the author of the Hyper Yo Yo Burning manga (gotta get that) and tells him that all he knows is Shou went to some weird underground place. The two then deduce that this sounds an awful lot like a plot from the manga. Underground, we find out that Shou has been tricked by some crazy guy in a devil costume, luring him to "hell" to fight for the Legend Cluster piece he has.
