How is the Law Enforcement in your area?

I know every town out there is different on this, but do you find your law enforcement & authority figures doing a good job of keeping the corruption/crime rate in order & doing what they can to keep everything civil in your town, or do you find them very inconsistent of what they do & they need to improve they're talents for this?

reports near every week of tazer abuse, cops on the take, cops abusing suspects, cops molesting suspects. And to top it all off, they want more money.

The meter maids here are terrible, soulless people who actually have records of giving people tickets more than 5 minutes before the meter runs out.

The cops here, on the other hand, are very good at their jobs.

Here, most of them are really good at what they do and are not corrupt at all, although they have a little more ego than others, I remember one time I had sunglasses on, a cop came out to talk to me and some friends (some idiot called because we were making too much noise or something) and told me to take them off because it's a sign of disrespect, and he himself had the stereotypical sunglasses.
It was actually amusing.
Cops treat people nicely around here, if you go to report a crime, they attend you instantly although their patrolling could be better.
Overall, they're okay around here.

They're kinda bad here. There are a few good ones, though, but just a few. And I also think lot of cops here are unprofessional, they lack in preparation, so it happens they do not know how to handle certain situations.

Lately there's also a certain amount of racism among them, immigration problem seems to be the big problem here -it actually isnt so bad, but the government right now use this card a lot if you know what I mean- so you see things you americans maybe are used to but we italians werent. Racism in Italy is a big issue lately, sadly.
