Far-right? I didn't know I was an advocate of absolute monarchy/theocracy. I learn something new every day! If I'm "far-right", then you're a good communist. You've bought the anti-Western propaganda hook, line and sinker and there is no helping you.

Now I happen to have a copy of the Hays Code with me. Let's peruse and see just what is so horrible about it. I'll start with the section on Sex. Since we've discussed miscegenation we'll put that aside and focus on the rest:

1) "Adultery, sometimes necessary plot material, must not be explicitly treated or presented attractively."
2) "Scenes of passion should not be introduced when not essential to the plot. In general excessive passion should so be treated that these scenes don't stimulate the lower base element."
3) "Seduction or rape (a) should never be more than suggested and only when essential for the plot, and even then never explicitly shown, and (b) are never the proper subject for comedy."
4) "Sex perversion or any inference to it is forbidden."
5) "White-slavery shall not be treated."
7) "Sex hygiene and venereal diseases (STDs) are not subjects for movies.
8) "Scenes of actual childbirth, in fact or in silhouette, are never to be presented."
9) "Children's sex organs are never to be exposed."

Now I don't know what #5 is, but with the possible exceptions of 7 and 8 I don't see what's objectionable. I would certainly hope that 3b wouldn't be an issue for anyone. Rape is never funny.

Let's go to Crime, since we were talking about children being impressionable.

1) "Murder (a) the technique must be presented in a way that won't inspire imitation, (b) brutal killings are not to be presented in detail, and (c) revenge in modern times shall not be justified."
2) "Methods of crime (a) theft, robbery, etc. should not be detailed in method, (b) arson must be subject to the same safeguards, (c) firearm use should be restricted to essentials, and (d) methods of smuggling should not be presented."
3) "Illegal drug traffic must never be presented."
4) "The use of liquor in American life, when not required by the plot or for proper characterization, will not be shown."

So the gist is, don't glorify violence and criminality. Bad guys are not to be looked up to. I'm sure that's something lazycoconut in particular would agree with.

Vulgarity - "the treatment of low, disgusting, unpleasant, though not necessarily evil subjects, should be subject always to the dictates of good taste and a regard to the sensibilities of the audience".

Obscenity - "in word, gesture, reference, song, joke or by suggestion, is forbidden".

Profanity - "pointed profanity or vulgar expressions, however used, are forbidden."

Let's move to Religion which was mentioned:

1) "No film or episode may throw ridicule on any religious faith."
2) "Ministers of religion in their character as such should not be used as comic characters or as villains."
3) "Ceremonies of any definite religion should be carefully and respectfully handled."

Notice it doesn't say "Christian faith" or "Christian religion". Just simply "religion" in general. So no mocking of Buddhist monks or Muslim imams either. To what extent this should be applied can be debated, I think. But the point is not to denigrate or make a joke out of an entire religion or its adherents.

National Feelings. This one is interesting:

1) "The use of the Flag shall be consistently respectful." (That's something I'm sure all nations would like for themselves.)
2) "The history, institutions, prominent people and citizenry of other nations shall be represented fairly." (Other nations too? Not just ol' America? Shocking!)

Repellant subjects must be treated within the careful limits of good taste:

1) Actual hangings or electrocutions and legal punishments for crime.
2) Third Degree methods.
3) Brutality and possible gruesomeness.
4) Branding of people or animals.
5) Apparent cruelty to children or animals.
6) Surgical operations.

You can debate the finer points of a few of these, but it all sounds more or less reasonable to me.
