Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger - Talk Up!

I really wish that this show didn't take the "ZOMGZZZ WE'RE IN THE SHOW DA PRODUCAS R EBIIIIL!!!!!!!!!"

It really ruined the deluded otakus turned real life super heroes thing that it was going for.

that was the point of it, they were trying to show how much the show had fallen apart.

Okay, anyone else feels that Akibaranger could as well have been named : "Super Sentai's TV Tropes : the series?"
I really felt that the whole point of Akibaranger was to have fun with all the tropes that appeared in Super sentai in a regular basis, and using a parody sentai team as a means to do that; as a result, the fact that the characters realize that they're in a show (like the "official" super sentai are) is completely consistent with the overall tone of the series.

I feel like the characters probably realized they were in the show purely so they could parody blatant mid-season retooling shenanigans. Sentai has a lot of them, they're usually obvious, and the Japanese fans (as I understand it) tend to be a bit obsessive about them.

Just finished the series. The last episode is entertaining even though it's only a recap/commentary with additional new scene on the end.
LOL all those listed on the Arsenal Files are the one getting figure treatment, Deka Blue and Black Condor are mention out of nowhere  And looking at those behind the scene pictures on the ending song, I want to see more of it :3

Overall the show is really interesting. Perhaps I'm one of the few that was disappointed the first time they changed the show's direction with things got serious and Akagi transformed in the real world. That by itself was great moment, but I still feel it's..... kinda cliche/predictable. Maybe because I'm expecting Akibaranger as a parody show filled with comedy from the start, I'm really happy with the second twist that they realized they're in a tv show is revealed.

And I agree with Akagi, we need that swimsuit episode!...... and those other things he mention:P

I wasn't expecting much from episode 13, but I was actually really surprised. It felt like an appropriate final episode for the series (much more so than 12 did) an made me laugh much more then the previous two or three episodes did. Not bad for what was basically a clip show with an added voice over and a single new scene at the end.

And yes, I was listening to Nobuo at the end and thinking "I really DO want to see those episodes". Oh well, only time will tell. At least we've still got the DVD of the live show to come, and maybe the radio show episodes if anyone bothers to sub them.

I know it probably wont but doesn't it seem like they want a season 2? At the end they were telling us to write to Toei and stuff.

I wrote them and actually got a response back. I'm pretty good at reading the language now and I think it said "Please, send us your tears!" :redface2:
