Minato Ascending
I didn't like it when they went with the TV show route...I wish they stuck with the otakus becoming "real" Sentai thing. To me the powerful scene of Nobuo becoming a "real" Sentai for the first time felt meaningless after they went with the unexpected route. I have other things I want to say but I can't put them into words.
I see Akibaranger has not just doing homage to the past sentai series (with Akagi being a huge sentai otaku), but it is also a commentary on the franchise as a whole. That's why they broke the 4th Wall, because it allows Akagi to give a critique to Super Sentai and how it is not just formulaic, but also controls by the producer creatively. I think they had this thing planned out from the first episode, and I think it is great for Toei to actually do a introspection on one of their most successful franchises and has a character looking at it critically.
