Have you gotten your friends into Toku?

I'm asian and almost all of my friends are asian. And they're all into martial arts and anime, so it's not a big step from that to toku.

A few of my friends and most of my film team is somewhat into tokusatsu. They've gone from "What is this ****, Power Rangers?," to "That's pretty cool. Let's play Halo."

My one friend really gets on my nerves calling sentai "Power Rangers", jokingly, so I just diss his favorite anime of all time, Captain Tsubasa. But my girlfriend thinks it's really sad and pathetic that I watch it. But she loves me aside from that.

I'm Korean.

The majority of all Korean kids watched atleast Bioman, Flashman, Maskman, Spielvan, etc...

All of my friends LOVE Bioman and still do to this day... but some sort of don't care about Toku in general... but when it comes to Bioman... we go crazy.

I'm mixed race from the UK including some Chinese ancestry and I admit I get teased a bit by my friends at Chip Shop 2000 for liking Toku and Anime [and yes, I admit to liking Hentai!] altho one of my friends was kind enough to do copies of the Kamen Rider Faiz subs on DVD for me for free as I had made some DVD's in return for him.

And I used to have a girlfriend from Singapore who I loved dearly [and I guess still do] who was majorly into anime and manga and who looked a lot like Sailor Mercury... *Grin*

readin some of these posts, it seems like schools are different in the US than it is in the UK... I mean... If people found out that you still watched power rangers or something, they wouldn't bully you around or start beating you up or anything

Yeah, schools are way different here. In high school here if you admit you like Power Rangers, chances are you're going to be abused, physically or verbally. Unless you're awesome like me. Somehow I pulled it off.

no i didnt get bully DK in fact one time i gave all my PR/sentai toys from 89-01 to goodwill and when i had to leave the class cause they thought i was Columbine every one went "Go go power rangers." assholes. My librarian Miss Lee wouldnt let me look up anything tokusatsu/power rangers for the life of me, i belive i told this story? well anyways I cursed her out so anytime i went into the library she call my father. boo-fuckin hoo. i cuss his out, i aint never scurred, anyways a majority of people didnt want me watching it while some said it was gay, even the jock. like Meade Palmer, faggot. Hurricane blue..."oh thats a power rangers." "no" yes IT IS". i hated my senior year.
