First of all for Anzu to dream those characters she had to be aware of them which, to me, says that her mother who originally came across as a bit of an airhead now appears to be a terrible parent who sees no problem in a toddler watching these films.

Well this helped to defuse the confession situation I guess. Seems like Tsuchida will be looking inward toward self improvement before he feels it's time for another confession try. To go out with someone that dedicated to their job while he's still pretty half-hearted wouldn't be any good. Besides if Yamamoto is already so busy adding a relationship to her plate might be a bit much. Probably good for Tsuchida to figure himself out first anyways.

Seems like we'll have an interesting last episode anyways. Though really looks like another one of Anzu's dream sequences is coming.

Ep.12 final subbed

That was a very nice final episode for this cour. I'm sure the writers have a lot of material to work with if they want to make another one, should Gainax be up for it, but the matter at hand is the aired episode. The first segment really made the dream sequence feel dreamlike, and gave us a nice theoretical look again at Anzu, Koume and Hiiragi's adult selves. The second half made nice use of another song by Erino Hazuki ("Yasashii Hidamari"), and ended in a cute way. More fairy tales could use robots. The closing song ("Sekai de Ichiban", by Anzu and Sakura) was nice as well.

Overall, Starchild provided two winners this season. Fun character interaction, some nice comedy, a completely new ending song every week with new and varied animation (bravo on that, by the way) and lots of heartwarming moments. I'll be remembering this one for a long time.
