GTO - Live Action: Support this title.

It is, but if you're in a small town, that's about the only place that's not the internet to get foreign titles. And sure, I like finding deals on the net. But sometimes it's nice to go buy a CD or DVD and have it in your hands leaving the store.

To be honest, I wouldn't be interested in the GTO Movie even if it was free, really. Sorry gang. I'd rather they try to bring the Sky High series over before the GTO one...I think I'd be slightly more hopeful for a tokusatsu release with something cartoonish like Sky High rather than GTO. If GTO takes off, the only tokusatsu we'll get is Hibiki, isn't it?

No BestBuy around?

If you rather them pick up Sky High, then push it. Tell them what you think, that's part of the reason they host panels at cons, feedback. Create a valid argument on how Sky High TV would be a seller in the US market, they do have the movie so they're somewhat familiar with the title. I'm honestly not familiar with the Sky High TV series. So I can't assist in such an argument. I was actually trying to push them to get Sh15uya last time I saw them. Since it's like Jdrama and toku. They have released some excellent titles which I've bought on DVD, and their staff is quite friendly. They're definitely not corporate suits. They're very regular people.

Kind of off topic, but it's really bad. Kitamura even directed the movie adapt, and I'm like his hugest fan, and I still didn't like it.

Are you just judging by the movie? The movie wasn't good, but the series was actually interesting. Kitamura did direct the first season's finale, which is why I think it was almost on the movie level of sucking, but for the most part, I thought the series was good. And I, on the other hand, am not a Kitamura fan.

Didn't like Sky High (series) 2, though...

Yeah, I spoke to her at AnimeNext a little bit. At the panel she expressed the release of this movie is a gateway to picking up regular TV series. And expressed how she'd love it for her company to pick up Black RX and some sentai titles that I forget. They're planning to see how well this DVD sells to see if live action has a market. Everything live action they've released so far has been pretty standalone movies for the most part. This movie has a strong connection to a 12 episode TV series. The company likes to be pioneers, probably why they created it in the first place. Most of Media Blasters actually use to be Software Sculptors, a division of Central Park Media. But a lot of them left to start their own company and look where they are today!

I'll be on the lookout for the TV-series as well as the sentai titles. Any idea if it's dubbed, subbed or the regular language? What channel itll be on and if its going to be a japanese chennel on USA digital cable?

The only title of theirs that was ever aired on TV was Rurouni Kenshin. Although I could be wrong about some of their movies, I don't have cable tv so I can't confirm. All their DVDs are sub/dub. Everything I have mentioned aren't definites, they just mentions of the staff member's passion. They have some interest in live action TV shows, however if this movie doesn't sell well, they might drop the idea for a while.

No, I've seen most of the original series and I didn't even like it after I had at least a grasp of what it was about (I saw the film first). While I didn't like the series, and didn't care for the movie much more, it did make me think that Kitamura is pretty damn good if he can make something so boring at least pseudo-entertaining. But again, you have to realize that I mainly admire Kitamura because I'm also a filmmaker, so there's some artistic appreciation as well as entertainment.
