foreign language speakers

If languages being learned counts, I'm learning Romanian at the moment. This is because I live in the UK where there are a large amount of immigrants from Eastern Europe, so I'm hoping to learn this language then get a loan to go back to school and become an interpreter

Spanish and English are my native languages. I can grasp Italian and French decently because they're rather similar to Spanish, though you'll never hear me speak French. My tongue just can't work that demon magic. I'm also somewhat conversational in Portuguese, though that skill is slipping because I don't really practice it, nor do I have anyone to speak to in that language around where I live. I kind of want to master the main languages of the Americas, so Portuguese is up there on my list. I can understand Japanese well enough, but I'd really like to take some classes and improve that skill. Speaking it is a bit more difficult, not so much the pronunciation as remembering the grammar constructs. (this goes for most languages I've learned, I have an easier time understanding than speaking them)

 looks like a lot of us are trying to learn Japanese. Maybe we should start HJU 'learn japanese' group to practice and share study tips or something.

Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese are my native tongues but the latter has gone downhill since I rarely ever use it. I also speak English (duh), some Japanese, and a little German.

I wish I could learn Japanese so easily as well. It's the language that I want to learn the most so far, due to being interested in Japanese movies, animes, music, games, & Live-Action (Tokusatsu) shows since my early childhood years.

I find remembering thousands of kanji the difficult part of learning Japanese..

I just can't do French either. That's why I started learning German, because in my high school everyone was expected to take either French or German, and I magically got along so much better with German
