Actually yeah you are "doing it wrong". I know you probably don't think you are and you can use it for whatever you want like what you've been doing today, but it actually has an appropriate time to use it. Using facepalm incorrectly earns you a facepalm.

Well let me tell you what facepalm.jpg means then so you can use it properly from now on. Facepalming shows apathetic (lack of care or emotion) shame and disapproval. Not "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT" or disgust. Lets use an example, this a proper usage of facepalm.jpg: Person A says a really bad and unfunny joke, or just something really stupid and ignorant. Person B posts a facepalm.jpg or even a facepalm.gif. Now this is an improper use of facepalm: Person A posts a gross and shocking picture, Person B posts facepalm.jpg. Now remember this and use facepalm at appropriate times
