Why has Hollywood NOT learned from the mistake of the Street Fighter Live-Action Movie...?

Now that I think about it, there was only ever ONE Fighting Game-based movie that was even halfway decent: the original Mortal Kombat...

Maybe they have already, well all it takes is for a team and studio that understands the source and can make a good film out of it while respecting the material like what we do with some Comic book movies. Then again with Shadow of the Colossus being written by that trash writer that wrote Legend of Chun Li I don't think Hollywood in general has learned how to properly treat Video Game adaptations yet. But to correct you, King of Fighters here is not a Hollywood movie. Its a Canada/Hong Kong joint production.
