Faiz or Blade?

in dragon knight there a female rider... totally change the storyline...

Ryuki had a female Rider as well, Femme. Femme and Siren are the same.

Blade didn't have Transformers stuff.

Just because they had motorcycles that could transform and help them in battle doesn't make it Transformer stuff.

Plus Blade seemed more of an original idea than Faiz ever did.

Also, Faiz ripped off a few ideas from other stuffs. The Edges? They were freakin lightsabers! And as you mentioned, Transformers rip off.

I wouldn't go down the "It's a rip off" road with toku. Toku isn't exactly made up of originality. Why should it matter anyway? I mean if you like it cool.

I didn't want to have to make this post but here goes.

That is so sad. I mean in what way is DK a failure? At least back up your wacky comments. You also think a film degree qualifies you to convert a Kamen Rider series to something for US audiences? But honestly I am just dying to hear why you have described DK as a failure.

DK has no wrongs but those 2 annoying Maya Young friends which ruins the seriousness of the show.

What's wrong with Dragon Knight? I mean hey, I'm not crazy about some little things, overall I feel the show is pretty damn good.

Here's what I said after having watched the first four episodes.

Matthew Cullen said:
Okay, I just finished watching the first four episodes and the fifth is waiting for me to watch it on Monday but I have to say I am far from impressed. I have gotten to the point where I prefer Kamen Rider over Super Sentai lately so I was really hoping this would be kickass. From the trailers it looked like it would be but it is worse than mediocre. I'm going to watch at least the first quarter of the series before I make a decision on whether to continue or not. My problems lie in the production of the show. The acting, on ALL sides (except for Maya), is absolutely horrible. Len plays everything too low. Kit is unbelievable. Ritchie is a horrible character AND he is horribly named. Seems like they took two seconds, if that, to name this character and didn't put any REAL thought into it. Ritchie is a rich kid and "richie" is slang for rich kid. Could they be more transparent in their character naming?!?! Another problem I have is the editing. It's the most disjointed editing I've ever seen on a show. I mean, at least Overdrive was edited together well (except for the 16:9 squeezed into 4:3). That leads into the ADR and the voice acting. The ADR is not synched right and the voice acting is not real. In a fight, someone would not speak like their speaking casually to someone sitting beside them at the table! Near the end of the battle with Incisor in episode 3, Kit says "I've had enough of this. It's time you answer some questions." He calmly states it like he's talking to a friend. In reality, something like that would be yelled - even if only the first half. There is absolutely no emotion coming from anyone in the cast, except Maya. She's the only believable one - but she is still over the top a bit from time to time.

The last thing I want to talk about is that the writing is horrible. All those silences where in the original there is talking - that needs to be filled up! The dead air is horrible and agonizing. The dialogue is trite and unbelievable and way too "on-the-nose."

All of that is still true in my mind, but enforced even more by 9 more episodes. I mean, come on! What was the point of the motorcycle duel in the last episode between Len and Thrust before they battled?!?! That was completely USELESS! Maya has since started to go down as well. Her acting is not as good as it was in the beginning of the show. She's still the best in the cast, but she's not as good as she was earlier. Her two friends are also bugging the hell out of me - the girl especially. Oh and Grace? I hope we never see her again on that show. She is one of the worst actresses I have ever seen!

This show fails at one of the most basic points - casting. Who you cast in the roles can make or break the show. This show is a failure because they did not cast good actors. Still, a great director can do well with even less than mediocre actors - but the directing is just as bad as the acting.

Look, I know this is a kids show, but that doesn't mean that the production quality has to be so low! Take a look at RPM. It's a kids show with probably the highest production value of any kids show EVER! The only problem I have with RPM is something superficial, but it doesn't take away from the series. I just wish they filmed and broadcasted it in 16:9 because, in my opinion, everything looks better in widescreen. Then they wouldn't have to squeeze the original 16:9 footage down into 4:3 like they did ONCE so far.

Anyway, that's why I feel it's a failure. This show had SO MUCH potential. Thanks for ruining it Adness.

I don't think you grasp the term "Comic relief". Those two are there to lighten things up. It works.

No - they fail. Her two friends are horrible actors.

Ähm, you don't have any idea about settings, characters, acting and writing do you? Sorry but, just go on with your dream and hold it as along as you never go proffesional. (And while your at that. Think about what the setting of DK is (Cause you're deeply comparing it to power rangers as an americanizied series) what acting has to do with writing. And what the character Matt Mullins plays means respictivly what this character symbolizes. And the term "comic relief" doesn't always compare to quirky or overblown characters. Just to add.
