English toku dubs

Singapore has been showing english dubs of toku for past few years on the local kids channel on weekends. No idea about the dubbing group though the voices leave much to be desired. Starting from Masked Rider Ryuuki and Chouseishin Gransazers two years ago, 555 last year, Justirisers which is finishing soon, and soon to be airing Blade. Then, there's several Ultraman shows.

Not to mention that they're also airing Power Rangers SPD and Wild Force.

These action series seems to be pretty popular with kids. When I mentioned Power Rangers to my little cousin, he yelled 'Wild Access' and did the pose. So cute. lol And I heard a boy singing the Justiriser opening, horribly out of tune... :eyebrow:
I guess the toys must sell really well, for the sponsors/importers, especially the transforming/henshin devices.

What was Beetleborgs...I miss them.

They were Beetle Figher, then Beetle Fighter Kabuto/Metalics. I think the toku version is much better than BB.

dubbed in the philippines:

after 1986 in ENGLISH:

bioman
solbrain

before 1980 in ENGLISH:

goranger
jakq
message from space
ultra seven
kyodain
koseidon

after 2000 in TAGALOG:

kamen rider ryuki
kamen rider faiz [currently airing]
kamen rider kuuga [never aired]
gransazer
justiriser
ultraman nexus [currnely airing]
power rangers wild force and up

i know that power rangers and sentai are different, but TV networks here in the philippines make no distinction between the two and have been buying PR shows ever since they came out and we didnt have any new sentai here since then. toku is slowly making a comeback but i dont really know if it is making an impact.

also, the dubbing company that did bioman and solbrain in the philippines did a few episodes of RYUKENDO in english but for another country [singapore i think] and i am not sure if it will be aired on TV there or released on home video.

Woah never thought that Ultraman Seven,Kyodain and even Koseidon(a tagalized dubs was aired in the 90's) were aired in the Philippines and in english dubs(Ginga Taisen was redubbed in english on SBN 21 in 1993).I hope the tagalized dubs of Kuuga will resurface some time this year same goes for the english dubs of Ryukendo made by TSP.

Where on earth did you get your info anyway?

a couple years ago I tried to organize together a fan dub of "Full Blast Action" with HJU members, but nothing ever came of it.

I was wondering what happened with that.

Fandub wise in no particular order;
-Gaoranger (Quests 31, Final, VS SS)
-Dekaranger (Episode 1 fight)
-GoGo V (I forget which ones)
-Hurricanger (VS Gao, Shushuuto THE MOVIE)
-Abaranger (Few clips)

There was going to be a fandub of Maskman that was going to be released on DVD but it died out, same goes for my Gavan dub when I was younger *shudders when thinking about how it turned out*

Legit wise there WAS a dub of the Daitetsujin 17 series but renamed something weird. I'm sure it's lying around somewhere in the vast voids of the internetz.

And the answer is:

BRAIN 17! An awesomely ridiculous movie.

I don't know about the whole series, but I have a dubbed version of Project G4, from Malaysia IIRC. It's...different, but pretty cool.

There have been a number of dubbed tokusatsu films from Malaysia, I've seen a number of people selling English dubs of Project G4, Episode Final, Cosmos First Contact & Blue Planet and the TDG otvs.

I think the Blade english dubs was made in Singapore where english dubbing is common thing though thier english dubbing was too horrible even if its dubbed by Americans and Canadians(its true....)

ok, going back to what I said sometime back: I have a malasian english dub of Kamen Rider (the origenal series), it was... intresting for the most part. I'd like to upload it sometime to show you guys what I mean, but I have no way how, so I got a propersision: anyone who can incode VHS videos to the PC, i'll gladly send them a copy of the video, free of charge.
