Well I was busy with Football and doing the radio show this weekend so I didn't see this until tonight. So ON WITH THE RECAP!
As always, this review/recap is brought to you by:
..By Kamen Rider Kiva. I want Nago-SAN T-Shirt, Dang it. Throw one to me. plz. Oh and LOL @ Aegis Reflector action on poor Jiro.
..By Engine Sentai Go-Onger. People keep complaining about PR being red Ranger-centric yet half the dialogue in this episode literally was the name of Go-On Red. And we got the now cliche Japanese sword fight showdown of two characters rushing at each other, a flash of light and then one appears to have lost, the other laughs then finds out he's dead. Here's hoping RPM fixes that and makes it suitably more epic.
And by Pon. I don't know what it is, I just know you can get stickers with it apparently... Beats the Flatscreen fish commerical in weirdness...
On with the SHOW..
-Previously on...
-Oh a Field Trip. And its about THE FINAL DESTINATION.
-and more flirting... kind of.
-Meanwhile back at Dark Shadows...
-JaroShi is having issues... 'overwrought?'
-Oh 'Thank you' that's a givaway.
-Okay so his (Jarod's) feelings for Camile are what's weakening him?
-Aha a conversation with Jarod and the Mirror of Exposition. This reminds me of a 'Disney' movie ironically enough, there is not one trace of goodness him according to Dai Shi. Well we'll just see about that Mr. Golden Dragon stuck in the mirror.
-Hey it's a Masters test, better then writing a lot of essays and arguing with college profs I guess.
-DEFEAT YOUR MASTER, MORTAL KOMBAT!
-FISTS OF FURIOUS ACTION!
-Spirit Showdown!
-And Casey fails which I completely understand. He looked around and saw what Lily and Theo were doing as opposed to figuring out things on his on. The burden is always hardest for the leader.
-Looking at Lily's outfit with the fairly short skirt makes me wonder if they saw a glimpse of Hanna and that influenced the costume design at all?
-hey going behind the back(s) of your leader, a time honored tradition in all villians.
-And Spencer you're not helping at all. FAIL.
-Oh them Migraines are killers.
-Hey Camile's out wandering around in the worlds and is ambushed.
-You know I have to give the stunties more props for staging a fight in those suits CANNOT be easy at all.
-MIGHTY CASEY At the ready.
-But Jarod's in charge. YES THE HOO-MAN. YOU and YOUR DAWTER are DOOMED!
-2 Phantom Beast Warriors down.
-THUNDER IN THE JUNGLE! Does this mean we're gonna see Connor and Kira again?
-All right time for a Butterfly BEATDOWN. BUT THE DAMN BIKE IS BACK.
-"A master doesn't ask, he knows".
-All right TEAM ASS KICKING IN EFFECT.
-THEME MUSIC TIME SO it's bye bye butterfly.
-kind of out of character for Theo and Lily at the end.
-and JaroSchizoShi fu is in effect. Nice close up on Holly at the end.
-More talking about Casey needing to find what he did wrong and Dai Shi planning to kill EVERYONE DEAD and episode ends.
+Odd thought, who did the voice for Lepus? I thought the VA sounded familiar...
Overall: A good setting up for the last little bit of Fury. I'm a little put off by the shifts in Theo and Lily's characters here at the end as well as the sudden re-appearance of Jarod and the mutual affection between him and Camile but hey, that's how it works. One other thing I've noticed about JF is who'ever is doing the close-ups on the characters, that's a good idea, something that I hope they keep doing in following years I think as we continually get casts with better acting skills, getting in close to see their expressions will help bring those strengths to the forefront.
