Doctor Who -Talk Up! (General Discussion)

The doctor can really be anything, he regenerates so his next form could be omnisexual for all we know, though considering his past, he always definitely goes for the human ladies. He had a grand daughter at one point, he had a relationship with the woman from the film, and of course rose tyler.

Though I have no problem with homosexuality, after torchwood anyone can do anyone for all I care, as long as the writing is good, I has nothing to rage about.

Remember in the series 6 preview we had pirates?

The doctor walking the plank

It is my sad duty to report that the Brigadier, Nicholas Courtney, has died at the age of 81. Alas, he never did get to make an appearance in the new series (always handwaved as "being stuck in Peru"), unless the Sarah Jane Adventures' episode "Enemy of the Bane" counts as one.

(Though I may add that I find it odd that neither the BBC News website, nor the Doctor Who Official Website, have made mention of it. If anyone can post the news articles from there if they do come up, it would be greatly appreciated.)

Steven Moffat has written a touching tribute to Nicholas Courtney here.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/dw/news/bulletin_110223_02/Nicholas_Courtney_A_Tribute

'I only met Nicholas Courtney once and very briefly - but he was as kind and generous and funny as his reputation suggests. And on screen, his perfectly pitched performance as the Brigadier carved a very special place in the history of Doctor Who. Not just because he could be grave and funny at the same time, and wise and silly in the same moment, and not just because you could still love him when he was clearly in the wrong, or because he could point a gun at you and still somehow twinkle - but because out of all the people the Doctor has met, in all of space and time, Nicholas Courtney's Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart was the only one who was ever his boss.

Somewhere out there, the Doctor just got a little lonelier.'
