Famed internet reviewer Sci Fi Debris (of the many Opinionated Star Trek Guides among other review projects) is now doing reviews of Doctor Who, ranging from the Classic Series to the most recent episodes.

The first, of course, being "An Unearthly Child":

The BFI recently held their preview screening of "A Christmas Carol" with Matt Smith, Steven Moffat, Katherine Jenkins [who plays 'Abigail Pettigrew'], journalist Caitlin Moran, and, briefly, Karen Gillan, all along for the ride and a Q & A session afterwards.

Various spoilerific hints and highlights about the special, the "Series 6 Preview" and the Q & A can be found, among other places at:

Among other notable bits:
What would you get the Doctor for Christmas, after 900 Christmases?
Matt Smith: “I don’t know. Maybe a pet. An owl or something. (Told he can’t have an owl because of Harry Potter he continued) An otter…Oswald the otter.”

Steven Moffat: “He’s got a Tardis! He’s got all of time and space. You really don’t have to give him anything. He just larks about. He’s got the ideal life. He’s got it sorted. He’s got a space-time machine. He would like a hat. He’s not getting one.”

As well as:
A playful Karen Gillan then stood up to ask a question from her seat in the stalls: “Steven, you seem to really like fish because in episode one, I can’t help but notice that little Amelia got a fish for Christmas. So do you have an obsession with fish. And what was your inspiration for putting them into this episode? And Matt and Katherine, what are your favourite fishes?” (laughter)

Steven Moffat: “I don’t even really like fish, to be honest. I hadn’t thought of that. I’ll be horribly honest, I think it’s a funny word – ‘fish’. You can make any sentence more funny if you just put ‘fish’ in it. That’s why, I think.”

Matt Smith: “I quite like Great White Sharks.”

Katherine Jenkins: “I go for little Nemo.”

Karen: (shouting) “I like Blowfish.”

And in consideration of the preview for Series 6:
"I wear a Stetson now," proclaims the Doctor. That's cool, too, he asserts. I expect it's likely to only stay around for the episodes set in the U.S. though. Somehow I think we're going to end up with a running gag of the Doctor taking a liking to various hats and Moffat (knowing full well how eager Smith is to having one, and is easily attached to them) yanking it off his head at the last minute. He'll need to have the TARDIS coat rack covered in hats before he regenerates at this rate.

Rory's back in the Roman armour and Karen is in the policewoman's costume. How interesting...

As an aside, the story starts with them
being rudely brought out of their honeymoon suite on the Space Liner when it begins to start crashing towards the planet. It may be nothing, but various fans seem to think you can draw some conclusions from that. Though there is the question of "when did they stop to grab Rory's Centurion costume from home?" Then again, who knows how much stuff is in the TARDIS wardrobe or how "long" they intend to make the honeymoon last (continually running into danger such as this, probably doesn't help matters).
