Doctor Who -Talk Up! (General Discussion)

That's been rumored for months. Some episodes are probably lost forever. Most of them, I'm predicting, are just duplicates.

Since PatricK Troughton as Doctor 2 is my favorite right after Tennant, this news would make me the happiest boy on Earth.

But it most likely is just a false rumor and as said, probably duplicates.

Deborah Watling, the actress who played Victoria, has confirmed on her website that she and Fraser Hines (Jamie) will be at the press conference regarding the recovered episodes tomorrow. As they were both Second Doctor companions (Jamie has been in more singular episodes than any other companion), this lends weight to the rumors that it is Second Doctor episodes that have been recovered (Web of Fear and Enemy of the World are the biggest rumors).

Also, BBC America temporarily posted their November schedule, which listed "Day of the Doctor" at 2:45pm EST (7:45pm in the UK). The schedule has since been pulled, but this is the closest to a time that we've had for the broadcast.

According to this those missing episodes are part 2, 4-6 of Web of Fear, the first appearance of the Brigadier(although he's just a Colonel at this point), and The Enemy of the World, which apparently has Patrick Troughton do double duty as the Doctor and the antagonist Ramon Salamander.

We went from 1 episode of each, to having all of Enemy of the World, and only missing one episode (which has been reconstructed) of Web of Fear. Wow.

Web of Fear should be especially interesting to fans of the current stuff. Remember that box with the map of the London Underground on it in The Snowmen? Well, let's just say that River's not the only being the Doctor has encountered in a different order than it is for them.

I'm always glad when they find episodes of Classic Who, but why couldn't it have been the Power of the Daleks or The Highlanders? Oh well maybe in the next batch...

And yet still no trailer for the 50th...

Edit: in case anyone wants to get pissy, that is indeed a joke.
