WOW what an offensive thread.
For starters not everyone who gets divorced are just idiots. I, myself, am divorced and getting ready to remarry. Am I am idiot because my ex-husband was sleeping around with no intent in changing and I refused to put up with that? Did i just not try enough to force him to love me and not want other women? To suggest such things is downright ridiculous. I gave my all in my marriage. My ex-husband decided after marrying that he didn't want only one woman and he refused to change. Love could not fix that and I refused to let myself stay trapped in that. To suggest that i'm an idiot or that I should have stuck around for that makes you a narrow-minded bastard. And yes I'm directing that at the people who believe that.
My mother divorced her first husband because about 6 months after getting married he turned into a different person and began to beat the **** out of her. Should she have stuck around and "let love triumph over all"? Was she an idiot for marrying a man she loved but divorced due to obsessive physical violence? He put my mother in the hospital. I think her divorce is MOST justified.
My parents are also divorced. They married for all the right reasons. Then when I was around 3 they just grew apart. They decided to end it before they became bitter and hated each other. They remained good friend, both remarried later on. My parents are actually BETTER parents being divorced. They both have fulfilled life, I have amazing half brothers that I'm closer with than anyone. My mother and my father still talk and work out family gatherings. I never ONCE felt any sting or awkwardness from their divorce. My parents just weren't together, nothing else was wrong with it.
This thread is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen on here and I actually motion for this thread to be closed. This is inflammatory and more insulting than most the **** that goes on here.
And to add my full personal opinion, people who claim to not believe in divorce are delusional children who need to learn the realities of life.
