DISNEY BUYS STAR WARS!!! EPISODE 7 IN 2015!!!

Furthermore, Dark Horse Comics is probably going under as a result since "Star Wars" represented most of their offerings & Disney will want to save money & switch over to Marvel comics.

I really hope not; I might have a tiny bias against them for how they treated Narutaru (which in retrospect, isn't all their fault) but, they don't deserve that.

Well I don't expect someone who almost goes out of his way not to talk about Sentai to have that great of taste in movies to begin with

Haha yeah, that's true.

What I'm essentially getting at is do there really need more Star Wars movies? Hasn't Lucas already done enough to tarnish the series as a whole?

That is really the only thing that worries me about it, i mean, we know that if there is two things disney is good at, that is making movies and fantasy so the prospect of them handling Star Wars doesn´t worry me, but i do think that we don´t need episodes 7, 8 and 9, that story was perfect with the original trilogy, there is no need to continue it.

That said, if disney decides make new Star Wars movies that are unrelated to the lucas films, then i am ok with it, in fact if they decide to adapt the Story of KOTOR then i am totally behind them.

The SW universe is big enough so they don´t need to go back to the original trilogy, that story ended, let´s see something new

Agreed, I wouldn't particularly mind seeing something like a adaptation of the Young Jedi Knights series. Mind you, it's not that far removed from the original trilogy, but far enough to the point where it won't actually taint the series as a whole if it becomes a thing

Not sure how I feel about the new movie. The Star Wars movie story was told. This could easily be the postscript season from hell.

Considering how they're pretty much retreading the same crap over and over again and are still in the rut of the Clone Wars, I welcome ANY new film or show that advances the series.

In speaking of shows , haven't they been considering a live action TV series in the Star Wars universe for some time now? That would go PERFECTLY with the Incredible Hulk and SHIELD series if not any others. Perhaps we can get un-CG full restored versions of the original trilogy.

Considering how they are amping up on their primetime offerings, it just seems like a logical step.

I honestly do not understand why people are bringing up irrational fears on the Disney-ification of their products as I have seen prior, they pretty much leave them be if not integrate them for the experience for the older folks.

Oh and Miramax is to be a mention as well.

The only thing that angers me is that Disney took a huge dump on the Power Rangers franchise and the other Saban shows and did NOTHING when they could have launched a live action high budget reboot of MMPR to compete with Transformers and actually gave it the time of day, like thwy were gonna do with Ryuki..... but I guess they are feeling seller's remorse now....

Who was running their promotion department and making the decisions? Well at least they aren't like Cartoon Network...

Lucas has a bunch of episodes that are just sitting on his shelf collecting dust, he was waiting for technology to catch up.

Honesly, I'm rather glad that film never happened

Last thing we need is more grimdark horseshit so that people can be manipulated into thinking that's it's "intelligent" and "adult" when the script is paper thin and the characters are about as wooden as George Washington's false teeth

Where has it been said that there's going to be an Episode VII? It'd be cool, but the thread title seems like it's really jumping the gun to me. There have been Star Wars movies that aren't part of the main story. Though I rather like the idea of a sort of EU for Star Wars in movie form.
