The only reason he doesn't completely ruin the show is because he's barely in it.

So, relatively half of the show where he's the total focus of the episodes count as barely in it?

[HIDE]As others have said, the final episode is pretty terrible. I loved the fact the final fight is a straight up unmorphed knife fight between the main badguy and Ryo, that was absolutely badass and cements Ryuu Ranger as one of the greatest rangers, in my opinion. But the whole clay doll plot twist makes very little sense and is very anticlimactic. I'm sure this was supposed to be some kind of allusion to something in Japanese history or lore, but it did not come across, at least for me. It just felt utterly random and out of place.

I also would have liked to see the team split off and all have to go and do their separate things. Fast forwarding to the future felt like a cop-out, since you never really saw what happened to anyone. I also didn't like the message of "where there is good there will always be evil" especially when they'd already established that if everyone keeps fighting, the great dragon god will destroy the world :disappoin So while I think it was the best overall series, it has the worst end of any I've seen.[/HIDE]

[HIDE]I completely agree. If Daizinryu hates fighting so much, why in the world didn't he completely destroy the Gorma & the Great Earth Shaking Jewel in the first place? Why did the Lailai Jewels left the Dairangers just to calm the dragon down if they & Daizinryu knows that the Gorma will attack again in the future? Where was he during Goranger to Zyuranger & after Dairanger where evil was always involved?[/HIDE]

So many questions I had regarding that.

Well Finally an old series has been subbed !!!! Now i just hope that all the other older series can be subbed!!!! 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dairanger is a good series, but imo, it takes a while to get interesting. The first 10 or so episodes were boring, but around the time the San Baka Gorma are introduced, the series got a whole lot better. The Kibaranger arc is one of the best 6th ranger introductions, the way Kou acts is really funny, and I liked the fact that he is asked to conceal his identity as Kibaranger form the others. His story is also sad, and at some point, it really made me wish he could be happy and reunite with his mother. The Kujaku, Jin, and San Baka Gorma episodes were interesting as well, and they helped to make the characters grow on me. Unfortunately, after the Kibaranger arc, things get weird again. There is a lot of stuff going on at the same time that I had a hard time trying to understand everything.

Still, Dairanger is one of my top 5 Super Sentai Series, and it will always have a special place in my heart.

Even the episodes that centered on him usually had secondary plots involving the other characters as well, and they were few and far between, certainly not "half the show". There were only a handful of episodes where he even fights with the rest of the team.

There is a lot of stuff going on at the same time that I had a hard time trying to understand everything.

The subplots just flowed so seamlessly into one another that unless you look at the whole picture the entire time its easy to get lost.

There's also the added effect that one or two members get sidetracked into their own subplots that its barely the entire team that has to deal with the MOTW.

Kou is quite possibly the most annoying character from any of the seasons ever. He's completely insufferable, especially in his first few episodes, where he does nothing but skateboard, cry, feel Lin's breasts and look up girls skirts. Even for a kid, I don't know why his behavior was tolerated, especially by Lin, who should have kicked him in the crotch several times. At no point does he seem worthy of the powers or responsibility.. The only reason he doesn't completely ruin the show is because he's barely in it. He doesn't even bother to show up for the finale, which should have been disappointing, but..

Honestly, I liked Kou, probably because I have a thing for excessively pervy characters....

Really didn't understand why the show felt the need to leave out why he was chosen exactly. I thought that it was because of his child like innocence that wouldn't allow him to abuse Kibaranger's abilities, but IDK

And hey, look at it this way, at least he's more bareable than Justin

I loved the show for the action, and Kou was fun... and Ryuuseioh, has been one of my favorite mechas (cause of the whole, transforming and fighting on his own)



that's all I can give it...


Yellow was probably the most underdeveloped character I have ever seen (hell Godai was better)

The Ending, was probably the single worst ending in Sentai that I've seen (talking about the twist)

And the Jin-story was just terrible... unless I missed an episode, hopefully not, the first time Ryou saw "Demon" Jin was in that dream sequence Dairanger's had... and the way he died was so cheesy (but I like cheese)


So in the end... I'm about 50-50 on it... though, some of the bad stuff irks me more then the good stuff

I think Kou is a great character. Yeah he acted like a pervert at the beginning, but I still thought he was a fun character. Other than that, I can't possibly see any other thing that's "annoying" about him. His storyline was excellent and I liked his interaction with Lin and how the two changed from being around each other. At the least, he's sure a hell of a lot better than Justine and all those brats on Zyuranger.
