Den-O my ass... Shinkenger >'s that ****

I'll just say that I think the Shinken villains are a snooze, because you can't make the connection that's needed with these suits. If ever a show needed a group of real actors playing face villains, Shinken's the one. To think Renji Ishibashi is wasting away over at Decade as Natsumi's idiot grandfather, when he should be playing the head Gedoshu...

Right now, Juuzo's pretty boring, a graduate of that Wolzard school of cheap cop-out fight scenes. "Oh, the wind messed up your hair and you were distracted, you are not ready to fight me." That crap's old! It'd be an improvement if Juuzo did kick the Shinkenger's asses around. I remember that being the case in the classic shows -- a badass villain actually kicked the heroes' asses to the point where they'd have to retreat. And that didn't make the heroes look cowardly, but it made the villain a hell of a lot more fearsome than when the writers use these lame excuses to put an end to the fight.

It's been two years now. Why are people still hating on Den-O? People are over Go-onger now but you're still stuck on Den-O?

Go-on (thankfully) isn't having movie after movie, two years after its run, and still just rubbing your face in it. (And, hey, I'm not a Den-O hater, but it is time for Toei to let it go.) I think that's why people see Den-O as being more unforgivable.

AGREED! Eiji forever. He's the iconic "badass". He set the bar for the " I don't really care" rangers. He's the sempai of Gou and Chiaki.

I think that would technically be Bioman's Mika Koizumi/Yellow Four. But Jetman's Gai Yuuki is probably the one who set the standard to which all those types of characters in sentai are measured. And Eiji, Chiaki, and even Gou don't measure up to Gai!

I've always thought the fake-outs were so annoying, as much as I liked Magiranger, it really bothered me when Wolzard would let the team go, I always did write that off as Isamu's original personality still breaking through, but it did get annoying to watch it. I'm still about three episodes behind on Shinkenger, so I haven't actually seen them take on Juuzo and knowing he's going to pull a fake-out doesn't make me feel too great about those episodes, but Shinkenger's still better than what we've had in a while, so I'm hoping that won't take me out of the enjoyment too much.

For myself Geki (Rio-sama so BAD ASS) was cool but that show is no where close to Shinkenger. I like to put it on par with Timeranger, there hasent been anything this dramtic in 9 years.

Timeranger, Abaranger, Gekiranger, and Shinkenger. Aba's got some serious drama in it too.

Timeranger, Gekiranger and Shinkenger (and maybe Boukenger too, but even that pales in comparison to the other three) are probably the only Sentais of this whole decade that are worth anything. Otherwise this has been a disappointing ten years.

Because It's been 2 years and the the series still gets more movies when there is about 100 other BETTER Toku shows out there that don't get any stroking like this. A shame.

Hah, I always thought Abaranger was incredibly unappreciated, it really managed to play both dramatic and comedic extremes pretty well and the core team were pretty good, except for Ranru, I could swear she got screwed in the story department.

...randomly, this topic is making me think, does anyone else think Toei might make Kobayashi their new Inoue after finding so much success with Den-O and (from what I've heard) Shinkenger doing fairly well in Japan?
