Couple of Candy toy questions

I'm looking at getting into candy toys

More specifically some of the older ones, from Dekaranger.

Now, how much paint do these candy toys actually need?And how are the older ones?

You don't have to paint anything at all if you don't want to but I like to apply paint if I see the need to do so. For some of the candy toys, the stickers included are good enough but on others, a lot or a little paint would make it look best.

Here's my Minipla DaiShogun G9...

And Minipla DaiShogun G12...

...obviously waaaay more poseable than the DX stuff. It's really fun to pose such a clusterfcuk of a mecha.

The oldest candy toy I have is DaiVoyager so I can't say much about those before Boukenger. But I think candy toys are great. Once built, I think they're more fun than the DX stuff that just sit there like a brick most of the time. But of course, nothing beats the size of the DX mechas though.

For the most part, yes. :sweat:

I'd say ~97% of the details are thanks to the stickers. I only paint some parts and details where I think the stickers do not suffice.

What scale are these guys in?

They look like there around a TF Deluxe height, while G12 is more Voyager.

i have most of them

i have most of the sentai candy toys going back to zyruranger

early ones are expensive near 100


you can paint them, i would polyurthane the decals to seal them

they do need little paint if you want like the tv show

the gekiranger sai dai-oh was very hard to find in japan

and dekabase figure needs some paint

they are great, I got shinkenger candy toys. I need to get the last one...the bull

besides that, its really fun to build them, better with your girlfriend, it was a blast...I need to get the last one.

but yeah, they are about 6-7 inches, G9 most be 8-9 inches and G12 around 10-11 inches...probably more
