Chojin Sentai Jetman - talkback

that was nice:P

plus his name is Radiguet:thumbs:

Sorry, I'm also guilty of admitting that was one of my favorite moment of the show so far. I'm so a ecchi pervert. My favorite episode so far is episode 18, it was kinda sad that I think I almost had tears in my eyes. I think that radiguet was about to kill that girl ,I think I thought "Please don't radiguet". That was also the most cold-blooded kill I have seen so far in a sentai.

Indeed, Gai's character is sumthing that today's sentai can only dream of. But not only him; Jettoman had pretty much everything. Tragedy, comedy, drama, romance, you name it it have it.

Gray FTW anyway, and also Radiguet and his twisted mind [and love, coz he loved Maria too] was cool.

Jetman was also a tribute to the anime that singlehandely created the 5 heroic team in colorful suits with poses concept, Gatchaman aka Battle Of The Planets and G-Force.

I think he did kill the girl - either literally or figuratively when you analyze that last scene carefully. It's certain that the girl lost the will to live when Radiguet returned to his old bad-ass self. That's what established Radiguet indellibly as a real evil-muther.

but why did gai have to die ? WHY?! :shakefist

For a man who fought destructive monsters, a killer cyborg, hordes of extra-dimensional-soldier-lackeys & cosmic villains beyond imagining - AND SURVIVE!, it's pathetic that he should meet his demise at the hands of a petty thief.

I mean - bag snatching in Japan?!?! I thought it was safer than New York!

But seriously, aside from the Jetman's parallelisms to Gatchaman, where the tough loner hero also died, reactions to Gai's death should be given attention. This provocation only shows how we, not only as viewers but people, react to unexpected things in our lives. It's kinda like the death in family, and how we react & deal with it may improve our standing in life itself. So I guess, that's one of the merits of Jetman as the great sentai series that it is.

That's true. The manga continued from where the series ended & they had Green Eagle as their new member. Red Hawk & White Swan do have a daughter. And by the way, in real life, Koutaro Tanaka, who played Ryu/Red Hawk, and Rika Kishida, who played Kaori/White Swan, are married in real life.

Speaking of which, is it true that they were both dating before the filming of Jetman started? I don't remember where I heard this from though...

According to the International Movie Database (IMBD), Kotaro Tanaka married Rika Kishida a month after completing Jetman. The IMDB has been the source of this item to the majority of English speaking sentai/Jetman fans.

However...

This has proven to be false, and in light of recent discoveries, I would like to retract my statement that Kotarou Tanaka is married to Rika Kishida. This is in accordance to a post I saw in Japan Hero Access. Here's the link to that post where you'll also see a groovy black & white picture of the cast that was taken in 2004:

I sincerely apologize to everyone for my misconception.
