Canadian importers, help?

hey guys,

can anyone from Canada tell me how the customs determine whether or not to tax your imports or not? Got an amiami package today, they taxed me $13 dollars...

i used the same SAL unreg. shipping and they did not tax my previous amiami package...what gives?!

It must stink to buy anything online from Canada, with the fear of having a customs tax slapped on whatever you buy.

wow there must be a system because i remember back when i imported LRS zeronos that came out about 80 CAD, they only charged me 15 on import,:redface2: unless there just pulling figure out of the air, depending on the weight, cost, and number of items :disappoin

Above a certain amount, and then they'll start charging you taxes. I once got charged 80$ for a camera valued at 500$. Still end up making a good deal from that transaction, but getting that tagged on a purchase does suck.

OTOH, I've done orders that are worth 100$++ and not get charged, even with full value declared on the package. Not ordering from places that declares the full amount helps though.
