Canadian HJU Fans UNITE!

Kinda hard to avoid that dude. We've just got a lot more people on here who are from that area. You're like what, one of a half-dozen HJU members here from Alberta? As far as I know, I'm only one of 2, maybe 3 members from Manitoba.

Yeah, i know.
It's just when i see the Majority of talk in here being about things ether in the GTA or otherwise in South-East Ontario, i think that title might better reflect the actual content.

Bah, it was a Joke anyway.

OSNAP! I FORGOT TO USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION TO SEE IF THIS THREAD ALREADY EXISTED!

During Memorial Day Weekend, I attended Anime North up in Toronto. One of the panels I spearheaded was a Kamen Rider panel along with IXI Studios (great guys, know a lot about Kamen Rider and have lots of KR toys to play with, from faiz gun to Decade Driver and more). We came in, sat down, introduced ourselves. And that was it.

Then the inmates gained control of the asylum. :redface2:

There was no order in the panel, we've had people arguing and any attempt to gain some semblance of order was beat down faster than Kamen Rider Kabuto (and in less time too).

Quite frankly, these fans scared me.

As far as Kamen Rider is concerned, I think I stand in a very very very small minority: I enjoyed watching Den-O, preferred Decade's version of Faiz over the original, and don't give two rats tails that if you blow into the Double Xtreme belt, the thing spins around.

When I tried to express my opinion, they all but mauled me. If all Kamen Rider fans are like this (don't even get me started about their opinions on Sentai), I'm not sure if I want to be part of such a fandom.

You have my earnest sympathies. It is quite disheartening when one's eagerness to reach out to other people who share a common interest is marred by dismay. As a Canadian myself, I do wish I had more people nearby that I can talk or enjoy tokusatsu with. I do hope that your experience is not indicative of the local fandom. I respect every other fan's opinions and preferences.

You ever hear of "Internet Personality Vangelus"? He's a pretty well know Transformers toy reviewer from Canada, and he's shown and said that he's a Kamen Rider fan. He's even a member of this forum

Use of the "SEARCH" function here would have been a good idea. With it you would have found out that we already have a thread here for Canadian forum members.

THREAD MERGING POWERS, ACTIVATE!

I was at Anime North as well and noticed the Kamen Rider panel on the schedule. I was somewhat interested in checking it out, but autographs were utmost priority to me so I didn't go. I dedicated 100% of my time to getting autographs from all the guests I wanted to see, especially Rita and Zedd (both which I did see :D). After reading what happened, looks like I didn't miss much.
