It's over 8,000!
My suggestion is that you buy the computer yourself and break the umbilical cord with your parents. You need to be living on your own.
This.
You know, sometimes family members try to take care of each other. They know you were wanting a new computer and they're trying to get you one. Be grateful for that. Sure it may not be the computer you've wanted, sure you were going to buy one yourself, and sure this thread is something that belongs on a proper website for stuff like this.
But you know what? They care. They're doing their best to help you. You have a problem with what they're doing? Take it to them. 300 bucks is NOT cheap in this economy for a gift.
I teach kids once a week as a part of a community outreach program, some of the kids there are selfish little brats, that no matter what you do for them or how you try to please them, they never appreciate it. What does this have to do with this? To be honest it's how you sound about this whole ordeal. Just looking for things to pick at and then complain about on a message board. Chill.
Well stated. I like your avatar too. :castlerock:
Sentinel King, have a talk with your parents instead of making threads like this. You need to handle your own issues. Get a job, pay the bills with your own money, pay for your things, etc. Tell them that you appreciate their offers, but you would like to do this yourself. This probably started because you accepted so much from them and they believe that they still need to take care of you. You're an adult (and not a recent adult either) so act like one.
