Being a teenager sucks @$$

If you have a home, food, are able to have clothing you are fine. Unless your parents are beating you just be quiet. You guys have it easy. When you grow up and get out into the real world where you need to work, go to college, manage a budget then you can say how much life sucks. As it stands now you have it easy.

That still doesn't mean life can't suck for us, you can name difficulties for any

age, and you can name casualties for any age. It just means at one point in

time life is going to suck.

Remember some teens have it much worst than parents not listening to you. Some teens go to school with only a bathroom to live in and 2 sets of clothes and don't complain. Stop whining and deal with it.

So you tell me, what has sucked about your life.

I don't think it's as easy to say definitively one way or another that it is or isn't hard to be a teenager. It really has more to do with the individual and how capable they are of dealing with the problems they have, no matter how trivial. Something that's not a big deal to one person may be catastrophic to another, and while we may not get why, let's not trivialize it by saying that they don't have anything to worry about or their problems don't matter. I'm more in the "oh well" group myself, but temperment plays a large part in stress management and conflict resolution. That's why some people shrug off even the most crippling turn of events and endeavor to persevere while others put a bullet in their head.

I totally agree with this. Everyone has their trials and hardships in life. Some occur during high school, some occur a bit later, some dont occur till later in life. Different things happen to different people and they handle it in different ways. I knew a few people that went through some horrible things and lived to tell about it, not in the sense of life and death, but that they pulled through it and became stronger for it. So, whatever you are going through right now, The Next!!, however big or small it is, just know that it wont always be that way. it will pass eventually, so just stay strong and work your way through it.

I agree with you. What I was talking about are the teens who bitch and moan about having to follow school rules, public rules, and their parents rules. The teens who think they have it hard because they can't get money they want, or can't get a car, or small things like that. I know there are things people of all ages deal with. I grew up in an abusive household, so I know that people go through some horrible ****, but like you say we all have different ways of dealing with our problems.

here's the truth, being a teenager is easy, but the pressures given to them from outside forces makes it seem a lot more difficult than it is

tough? going to high school, hanging out, no rent or bills to pay? that's tough?

try doing what my friend did and have a son in EIGHTH grade because her parents were never around to give her the sex talk, maybe then you can complain

I have to admit, in high school I would often wonder why the hell people were so pissy and upsettable about such seemingly miniscule problems, but not everybody can bring themselves to be as lazy and apathetic as I am. I've always subscribed to this quote:

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful."

That being said, we all had our bouts with teenage angst. It's a tough time not because of the actual issues being presented us but because of the kind of struggle for identity we go through and the evolution and experimentation of basically every aspect of our lives.
