True, but those pigs look fuckin' ugly now. Come to think of it, wouldn't the ink from the tattoos have chemicals that could harm the animal?

Why would it? Tattoos are done using ink and materials that are safe for the tattooee.

Also, pigs are so close to humans medically, that our tattoo items should be perfectly fine for them. I mean, we can use their hearts, veins, and other parts to implant into us, but letting them have a tattoo would bring harm?

As for the ID tattoos, that is what most people did before the advent of "The Chip". My dog's chipped, just in case she got out and lost, but if she wasn't, I'd have ID tattooed her, definitely. It's a great way to make sure you get your lost pets back if you can't or won't chip them. And it doesn't harm the pets at all.

From a quick google search of 'how to tattoo fish', it seems the answer is:

Lasers.

In theory, you can do it genetically too. In a way, scientists do that, by mixing the genes of marine life that is bioluminescent with 'regular' fish, so the regular fish glows.

They also tend to use that on mice. Not for the mice glowing. But for the mice genetics to glow in parts where the new genes influence. It's a way to mark what code does what to the life form.

So, if someone really wanted a glowing fish with a 'tattoo' pattern, there you go. Theoretically possible.
