Goddamnit America, you were just starting to get gay marriages and everything.
It's the south. Most of them are conservative racist hicks that are inbred after the third generation. I'm disgraced solely by the fact that I'm partially southern and i'm more civilized than these rednecks.:redface2:
Judges cannot deny marriages unless something illegal (Which inter-racial couples aren't) is happening behind the scenes. The couple will probably appeal to the higher courts , with which the Civil Rights (13-15) amendments can be cited as well as some Supreme court cases, with which this judge can be legally shut down. Glad government is doing something about this.
So.........you think it's time for another Civil War considering at all the backlash the current government has been getting is actually coming from the south from my POV? Not to mention state govts in southern states still pull this bullshit
WTF??
I didn't say anything like that. I believe the Southern States should be shown who has the authority, and it's the Federal Government. Sometimes I think that the South is in itself a lost cause due to their bullshit, and I think times like these sometimes prove that very sentiment. However, they sholud be given a little room to improve ,and maybe the Federal Government should be more stringent to the Southern states that cause this bull.

Being from the South myself, I take offense to that, and it shows that stereotypes are much easier to spread than genuine knowledge. This guy's problem is a personal one and shouldn't be automatically assigned to anybody and everybody that lives in the same tri-state area just because you don't know anything about American culture. Yeah, we've got mountains where I'm from, but we also have ejuh-muh-cashuns and auto-mobeels and skyscrapers, oh my! This may shock you, but I can read and wear shoes, too. I've never passed judgement on somebody because of their skin color and I don't own a single pair of overalls.
Have you never stopped to think that stereotyping an entire population of people might be just as bad as stereotyping a race? Most of you came to this thread to talk about what a jerk this guy is, and in the process you've managed to do just as much judging as he did by insulting white people, or the South, or the entire country. That's not open-mindedness.
