Abandoned Japan - Mountain Village

So someone on 2ch went on a exploration trek, and this is what he found in a remote, long-since deserted village up in the Kinki region (the guy said it took "40 minutes of Mountaineering to reach")

Based on the Architecture as well as the various appliances and electronics, it appears the village was abandoned sometime in the late 70's or early 80's. It also seems to be home to a sizable wild monkey population.

Well sense there are signs for Fire. I would guess that's somewhat of a flammable area or something? I don't know if that makes sense.

As in maybe that's a place were Gas flourishes?

Right? I still get dumbfounded knowing there are towns and villages that go uninhabited. As if they have zero use what-so-ever. Can't less fortunate people start up there, of course after the aid of constructors?

Or can't people start businesses there?

If it is near a very dangerous and gassy like area then i dont really see them rebuilding and putting people there. Even if it is the less fortunate. It could blow or something.

Yes of course, if that's the reason then it cancels out my other suggestions/questions.

But if that isn't the case, then I don't see why they can't be worked on.
