Sankaku has a few articles about pic's from 2ch taken by some Urban Explorers poking around some of Japan's Abandoned places, and some of them are truly beautiful, even if in a state of disrepair.

There are a lot of places like that in Japan. I know 2 in Okinawa.
1 is Koza. it used t be the place wehere the US Marines hung out... a lot of history there... now it's a ghost town.
Another one was in the north, close to Yanbaru... Which was scary... there were signs: it's dangerous, please head back... a bit further another one... then further a last sign: if you pass here there is no guarantee you will return alive.
