Meh, after they lost Yu-Gi-Oh!, they had nothing left. They lost Pokemon and One Piece, their runs of Sonic X and TMNT already ended, and most of their original content was just plain crud. honestly, I couldn't care less what happens to 4Kids now

With the popularity of the Game Boy games, any company that licenses anime, including Saban, would try to get their hands on it. Also, Saban acquired Digimon very shortly after 4Kids acquired Pokemon in an attempt to compete.

They only own the rights to the movies and that's it. The current rights holder is a company called The Pokemon Company.

And I was talking about a "What if?" situation if someone else acquired the rights in the late 90s instead of 4Kids.

Put it this way... in the UK, you'll be lucky to find anime on the five main channels. Usually just some film on at like 4am on Channel 4.
