Some people on 2ch are speculating that using the Sengoku Driver 'chops' away your life and turns the user into an Invess, and that the Genesis Driver grinds the juice and uses the ENERGY lock seeds to refill your life energy back.

omg that would be so awesome if that was true, it would be like humans in kamen rider wizard falling into despair but instead the riders are doing it to themselves.

THat makes no sense though. How does fighting Invess turn you into an Invess?

It doesn't mean that

their existence will become the same as the Invess.

It means that the players of the game will ultimately become game pieces.

The hunter becomes the hunted.

So someone's manipulating the gamers into becoming prey for an even bigger board game(Sengoku War)

Gaim and the rest are just chess pieces. I bet Ryuugen and Zangetsu are overseers of the "match" in the first episode.

I will point out that "their existence will become the same as the Inves" doesn't necessarily mean they will literally become Inves, or that Inves are all transformed humans. It just means that a human who "consumes" Lock Seeds may eventually become something that is less like a human and more like a monster... something in-between. You know, like a Kamen Rider.

And if you're a Rider too long, maybe you'll begin skewing more and more toward the monstrous side of the spectrum. Maybe you can end up being a Chalice, who's just one step removed from a monster. And if you just flat-out became a monster, I think it'd be something similar to an Inves, but not exactly one like we've seen before.

The other Inves are based on animals, so maybe they were once animals who stumbled into Helheim and ate the fruit. Maybe a human who eats too much becomes the Human Inves, whatever that would be.

We don't know what Invess are, so it's hard to say if it'd be possible or not.

However, I agree that so far it doesn't seem like they're related to humanity. The Invess seem purely feral, and based on animals ... or mythologic beasts - kind of hard to know at this point. Byako is a mythological beast, although it also could be considered an animal, while a Deer is just an animal, although there are supposed to be legendary deers around Yggdrasil, so they could be a reference to those deers, rather than just the animal.

I think if they were meant to be transformed humans, they'd be presented differently, closer to the Agito Lords or Grongi, rather than mirror monsters.

I think the intro scene hinted at this strongly. We can see the characters' reflection in the water, suggesting that there is a flip side (or dark side) of those characters later on. We can see Kouta apparently becoming a different person (which is why there are two of him, one is screaming and integrating behind the fence, and another one just walks away nonchalantly).

I can see that Riders becoming Invess getting played out as more of them are introduced. This would explain the huge battlefield in the prologue; the Riders are merely game pieces, just like the old Invess game the dancers used to play.

they don't eat the lock seeds, or maybe someone in the series will be crazy enough to do so (if possible).

From the perspective of a urobuchi show, those two criteria you listed would probably increase the likelihood that the invess were humans. Of course this is a Rider show and I don't think they are ready to have it revealed that the heroes are killing innocent transformed people or that kids are using them as their personal pokemon.

If people are transformed by "eating" the fruit, then by definition they aren't innocent. It would fit the old-school Rider rules for how a human becomes a monster, i.e. by choosing to throw away their humanity. In this case, people in their greed for the fruit's power would essentially become beasts, because they're behaving as beasts.

That said, I tend to agree with NeonZ that the Inves just don't act like transformed humans, and there haven't been any story hints toward the idea that they're humans. Urobuchi's twists are usually fair play and easy to predict ahead of time if you pay attention to his text, so I'd guess he has other plans in mind.

Besides, the monsters being human would really devalue the show's emphasis on the shock/horror of humans fighting humans as Riders. So I think the monsters will probably remain a different-yet-related thing, and what's dark about the Riders will be something unique to their role in the story.
