Internet Wrestling Community, you might have heard of them?

The internet wrestling community, speaking as a part of it, is one huge joke devoted entirely to just spouting off "I KNOW MOAR ABOUT WRESTLING THAN VINCE OR HAITCH!!!"

A discussion about or relating to wrestling has no place in a thread about bug men who ride motorcycles and partake in kung fu

Kuuga-Hibiki.
I don't see the big difference with someone like Tendou or Tsukasa. Those six lead Riders had their funny moments too. SPECIALLY Agito and Ryuki.

How can you be a part of it? You're a real person, you exist outside the internet... but, I'll just stop talking about this.

Someone say wrestling?

Kuuga-Hibiki.

It's really amusing to me that these shows are lauded for being super-serious now, 'cause a lot of stuff from this era of Rider was criticized for using too much comic relief when it came out. Specifically: Godai, Shouichi/Hikawa, Shinji, Kenzaki, and Hibiki are all played for comic relief in various ways in their respective shows that really pissed off fans at the time.

Personally, I don't think people who want serious Rider can point to this existing at any point in time on TV. Maybe it did exist briefly with The First and The Next, but nobody is going to say they want those flicks to be the gold standard for quality in Kamen Rider writing, you'd be laughed off the Internet. As far as the TV shows go, Rider has always had a layer of camp and zaniness running through it.

I think what people are really talking about when they say they want a "serious" Rider show is a show where it's easy to ignore any humorous or camp elements. You can describe Kuuga and make it sound very grim by just not mentioning all the times Godai juggled to make someone smile. I don't think you could do the same for Fourze or Den-O without telling lies.

Toei's pretty blatant about incest subtext, too - Philip and Wakana, Maki and his sister, Tendou and Hiyori, and more. I guess it's not such a big deal to them
To be fair, Philip didn't KNOW she was his sister at the time (Much like Luke and Leia, for that matter,) Maki was a little kid with a stupidly strong older sister complex that he never got a chance to break, And Tendou, again, didn't know Hiyori was his sister, plus, she kind of wasn't as well.

-Edit: I almost feel bad because I almost mixed up Hiyori and Jyuka. I'm gonna go in a corner and cry now.

... Didn't, by the end of the series, Tendou reveal that Jyuka wasn't his real sister, and that he always knew Hiyori was a Worm? Technically, neither were his sisters, and he knew it. The ones who didn't knew their degree as relatives were the girls. Well, the one that actually revealed that they weren't born from the same parents was Jyuka, but still, Tendou knew it. That only leaves Hiyori, not knowing Souji was her '''''brother''''' (which's still impossible, since she's an alien. Just saying')

Well as far as I'm concerned, the type of comedy in those shows are by and large what I prefer seeing. Particularly when compared to what is seen today in either Sentai or Rider.

There's a big difference between Godai being silly to cheer up a child or prank his friends, and Yuki or Akiko (or almost anyone in Fourze really) acting childish for supposed comedic effect. A real-life person is more likely going to pull a Godai than an Akiko in various situations.

My point still stands, though. Jyuka, even if she was his cousin, still filled the role of the little sister, and any incest between Tendou and Hiyori would strictly be theoretical, since his actual, human little sister was dead and Hiyori is an alien....And it started rambling. My point is that there was no incest involved, at least not knowingly (W), non-sexually (OOO) or At all (Kabuto.)
