Tifa joining the roster is huge! Her iconic moves and that incredible limit break have always made her a fan favorite in Final Fantasy, so seeing her in Street Fighter 6 will definitely shake things up. I'm curious how they’ll balance her abilities with the other fighters. Also, I think it’s great that Capcom is introducing new characters like Yasmine, Arjun, and Bosch alongside classic ones. It keeps the game fresh and diverse.

What do you all think about Tifa’s chances against the current lineup? Excited to see how her combos will translate!

I never expected to see a Final Fantasy character in this game. I usually play Tekken for the guest fighters so this is a big surprise for me. Tifa makes perfect sense though because her fighting style is already all about punching and kicking. She does not need a sword or magic to fit into a traditional fighting game like this. I am definitely buying the pass just for her. Early 2027 feels like a very long wait but it gives me time to save up and practice with the current characters. I hope they give her the classic outfit.

Bosch becoming playable feels overdue. If you spent time in World Tour, he was one of the few new characters who actually felt important to the story. Every time Capcom added another DLC character, I kept wondering when Bosch would finally make the jump to the main roster. I'm glad it finally happened. I just hope they don't make him a Luke clone because that would be disappointing after all this buildup.

I'm happy for Tifa fans, but I know some Tekken players are probably staring at the trailer in complete disbelief. For years the conversation was always "Tifa should be in Tekken." Then Capcom somehow shows up and gets her first. That is honestly one of the funniest things I've seen happen in fighting games. At the same time, Tifa fits Street Fighter surprisingly well, so I'm not complaining.

The part that disappoints me is the end of World Tour support. I understand why Capcom is moving resources elsewhere, but World Tour was one of the reasons I spent so much time with Street Fighter 6. Meeting new characters through missions and mentor interactions made the game feel bigger than a traditional fighting game. Avatar Arcade might be fine, but it doesn't sound like a real replacement for story content. That's probably the biggest negative from this announcement for me.

I actually respect Capcom for adding three original characters in the same season. A lot of companies would just fill the pass with returning favorites because it's safer. New characters are always a risk because fans already have long wishlists of older fighters they want back. Even if not every newcomer becomes popular, I think a fighting game needs fresh faces to stay interesting. Otherwise the roster eventually starts feeling predictable.

Yasmine sounds like an interesting addition. A high school student looking for her brother is a classic fighting game story. I like that Capcom is introducing fresh characters from different countries instead of just bringing back the same old roster from thirty years ago. Her design with the flag colors sounds cool. August is not far away so I will try her out as soon as she drops. It is good that they are keeping the game fresh with new faces.

Tifa is obviously going to sell a lot of season passes, but I don't want Yasmine, Arjun, and Bosch to get ignored because of her. Looking back at previous Street Fighter games, some of the best characters started as complete unknowns. Right now everyone is focused on the guest character, but a year from now people might be talking more about one of the newcomers. That's usually how these things go.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I always prefer original characters over guest fighters. Guest characters create hype for a few months, then the discussion usually moves on. Original fighters become part of the franchise's future. That's why Yasmine, Arjun, and Bosch interest me more than Tifa. If Capcom does a good job with them, they could still be around ten years from now. That's a bigger deal to me than any crossover.
