EA Sports UFC 2 Finally Confirmed, More Details Set for Tomorrow
EA Sports has officially confirmed that EA Sports UFC 2 is in the works. The announcement was made via a tweet from the official EA Sports UFC Twitter account, which you can check out below. The tweet reveals the UFC Octagon shape with the EA Sports UFC Logo at the top and the number “2” in the middle.
EA Sports is promising more details will be revealed tomorrow (Nov. 10). There are currently no other details on the game or what stage of development the upcoming MMA game is in. Hopefully, there will be some type of gameplay or announcement trailer tomorrow. It makes sense there are announcement coming this week, as the UFC’s current top superstar, bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, is scheduled to defend her title in the main event of UFC 193 on Saturday, November 14. The event is being held at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, and it’s expected to be the largest UFC attendance in history.
EA Sports UFC was released in June of 2014 of last year as a next-gen only title. While the roster at launch was smaller than the roster for UFC Undisputed 3, EA Sports did continually add new fighters for free throughout the year for all weight classes. The UFC video game license was picked up by EA Sports in 2012 from THQ. It is probably for the better that with a UFC video game, it’s not a title that is released annually similar to the Madden NFL games.
