It’s 2016, and the release of the next UFC game from EA Sports, EA Sports UFC 2, is right around the corner. EA Sports officially confirmed today that the game will launch on March 15 in North America and March 17 worldwide. In addition, a new gameplay trailer for the game was released. You can check out the new “Finish the Fight” trailer with new footage in the player below. On top of the release dates, EA Sports also released some pre-order bonuses for the game. Players who pre-order the game will receive UFC Hall of Famer Bas Rutten, Kazushi Sakuraba and a Mystery Fighter as bonus fighters on the roster. At last night’s UFC 194 event, the main event title fight between former featherweight champion and new undisputed champion Conor McGregor had another unique stipulation added to the bout. The winner of the fight would be the other athlete to appear on the cover of EA Sports UFC 2 opposite former women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. With his win at the pay-per-view event, Conor McGregor is now confirmed to be the other athlete who will grace the upcoming game’s cover. The cover was revealed on the PPV broadcast following McGregor’s win. McGregor knocked out Jose Aldo only 13 seconds into the first round, making it the fastest knockout in a UFC title fight in mixed martial arts history. As previously reported, EA Sports officially announced EA Sports UFC 2 yesterday, the long awaited sequel to EA Sports UFC. You can check out the announcement trailer below. The game is currently scheduled for a release in the first half of 2016, so it seems to be pretty far along in the development process already. The new video features a lot of development and behind-the-scenes footage for the new game. The voice-over promises that EA Sports listened to the feedback from the first game, and the sequel will make improvements upon the original. There is also the promise of EA Sports UFC 2 having a gameplay mode, both online and offline, for every type of gamer and fight fan. EA Sports has officially confirmed that EA Sports UFC 2 is in the works. The announcement was made via a tweet from the official EA Sports UFC Twitter account, which you can check out below. The tweet reveals the UFC Octagon shape with the EA Sports UFC Logo at the top and the number “2” in the middle. EA Sports is promising more details will be revealed tomorrow (Nov. 10). EA has revealed through their forums that the latest patch for FIFA 15 is now available for PC and PlayStation 4. Xbox One users will have to wait a short time before being able to download the update and there was no word about whether it will be coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.  According to the patch notes the second title update brings a number of important changes to the annual soccer game, including modifying the behaviour of goalkeepers and improvements to the shooting mechanic. EA Introduces EA Access Subscription Service Gaming giant Electronic Arts, better known as EA, today introduced a subscription gaming service called EA Access. The service will run at a low-price monthly fee, allowing access to games and exclusive demos from across EA’s development studios. The service will launch initially as an extremely limited beta on the Xbox One before full launch, although it’s likely to move to other platforms if successful. The initial launch cost will be $4.99 per month, or $29.99 for a year subscription. The games available at launch will be FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, Peggle 2 and Battlefield 4. EA Access promises to allow full access to these titles as part of its subscription fee. It’ll be interesting to see, moving forward, if FIFA 14 is replaced with 15, Madden 25 with the next version and Battlefield 4 swaps with Battlefield: Hardline when those titles launch. Long running boxing series, Fight Night has been put on hold due to EA Canada focusing all of their attention on the upcoming UFC game. Head of EA Sports, Andrew Wilson said it was because the team behind Fight Night had refocused towards the recently acquired rights to the UFC. In an interview with IGN, Wilson had said “Right now, a great portion of the core of the Fight Night team are actually the team that are building UFC.” He then went on to add that the main reason behind EA putting so much focus on the UFC is due to its ever growing international popularity, whereas boxing is not as loved as it used to be. As for the future of the boxing series, Wilson said “Do I see a future for Fight Night? You know, sure.
