E3 2016: Nintendo Focusing On Content With NX
With both Microsoft and Sony focusing on high-end graphics powered consoles in their Scorpio and Neo projects respectively, the world once again looks to Nintendo to see what they’re doing next. With the failings of the Wii U still fresh, the pressure is on them to make their next console, called the NX currently, to succeed. But, how will they try and make that happen? According to Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime in an interview with Bloomberg, their focus won’t be on graphics, rather, it’ll be on the games:
“For us, it’s not about specs, it’s not about teraflops, it’s not about the horsepower of a particular system. For us, it’s about the content.”
He went on:
“We’re focused on bringing our best entertainment to both the Wii U as well as the NX in the future. So for us, whatever Microsoft and Sony are doing in terms of talking about new systems, that’s for them to fight out in that red ocean.”
Nintendo is intending to reveal more about the NX this year, and only had a small presence at E3 because of that desire.
