Black Ops 2: TACITUS is a weapons manufacturer
Since callofduty.com was updated to show a distorted image layered with the text ‘TACITUS’, formatted in the same way as the print on FPS Russia’s Kyle Myers’ shirt seen during his Quadrotor demonstration, tacitus.com has been overloaded with enquiry emails from curious CoD fans questioning the company’s assumed involvement in Black Ops 2’s development.
Yesterday, said website nipped all speculation in the bud.
As Psychic Gamers’ ‘R834’explains in this YouTube video, site administrators added a new sentence to the organisation’s ambiguous homepage which read:
“Black Ops 2: Weapons manufacturer in the game. Not us.”
The sentence has now been removed.
So there you have it. TACTICUS is the name of a fictional arms manufacturer to feature in Treyarch’s upcoming FPS. Could this mean then that the next Call of Duty game will ditch real-life military hardware in favour of inventive weaponry? I guess we’ll find out on May 1st.
